If every time a lightening storm happened, a somber newscaster reminded us how many volts and how unlikely surviving a direct strike would be, no one would leave the house with a cloud in the sky.

Hyperbole about "hunting season' when nothing of the sort occurs ever and demonstrably not true in this case just makes the dynamic between cops and the communities they are assigned to police that much more tense.

A better discussion would be the disproportionate incarceration rates, the line that was drawn between cocaine and crack, and just the war on drugs in general that resulted in the "need' for a robust presence in black communities.

Nationally, for example, acceptance of decriminalizing recreational pot use is in the majority I think. I get the idea that the use or sale of drugs is not something that the Black community is clamoring to have a war with. If we had never gone down that road with prohibitions, there would be some crime in the black communities, and I would think the remaining crimes are the sort that the community would welcome police involvement in preventing and or punishing.

The thread title was clearly trolling for a reaction. I would ordinarily avoid it for that reason alone. The OP has not backed off one iota from that completely discredited point of view which only makes his arguments that much less valid or interesting.

I wasn't even going to address the justified vs unjustified shootings. Even when a cop is cleared, there remains a cloud. Understandably, the family thinks junior would never do anything that might contribute to his demise. I speaking about the issue as iff every four days it is actually an unarmed black kid. The reality is a lot of those 96 shootings a year are during the actual commission of another crime, suicide by cop and other incidents that no one seriously says was improper. A few of those 96 shootings are likely by black officers.
