New Witness to Michael Brown Shooting

No, it's inappropriate for the governor to call for prosecution of the cop. Totally inappropriate. And totally inappropriate for him to take sides in the matter. Justice for the cop is equally as important as justice for the Brown family.

Calling for a thorough investigation would be appropriate. Calling for a vigorous prosecution is indefensible.

This thing stinks higher and higher with each passing day.

Re-read it carefully.

"Second, a vigorous prosecution must now be pursued."

He doesn't say WHO should be prosecuted. Typical politician speech. Planned to be interpreted however you wish. And when they try to pin the tail on the donkey, he can say "I didn't call for prosecution of the officer. I meant mumble-stutter-bullshit."

Who else he might be calling for the prosecution of I cannot imagine. But if needs be, he has left himself an out.

Basically he called on the prosecutors to do their jobs. Really went out on a limb with that one, didn't he? (I'd roll my eyes, but that one calls for a roll that could sprain something)

He asked for prosecution. That is wrong. There may be no justification for prosecution. The governor should stay out of the decision to prosecute or not prosecute. That is not his job.

If there is not a visible process that both is and appears to be impartial, the situation does nothing but grow worse.

As soon as a file is opened, a prosecution begins.

Sooner and not later seems reasonable under the circumstances.

That's ridiculous. Prosecutions don't start as soon as a file is opened.

Well now, right in the cradle of democracy:

Race-based hate crimes spike in D.C.
Whites most common victims, but underreporting feared

Race-based hate crimes jumped in the District last year even as most other types of bias crimes decreased, with analysts saying such incidents could be vastly underreported among minority groups uncomfortable coming forward to authorities.

D.C. police say that of the 18 race-based hate crimes in 2013, the majority of victims were white and the majority of suspects black. The number of incidents was up from the 13 race-based bias crimes reported in 2012.

The disclosure comes as a wave of protests and unrest after the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teen by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, has highlighted racial tension in the St. Louis suburb and prompted widespread calls for an evaluation of race relations between communities and their police departments.

No one is condoning any type of hate crime. Your statistics are localized and does not in any way accord with the national hate crime trend.

"How many ‘hate groups’ are there?

There are 939 active hate groups in the United States – a 56 percent increase since 2000, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. The number of such groups surged in response to President Barack Obama’s election and the economic downturn – growing from 888 in 2008 to 1,007 in 2012 – before falling back slightly last year, according to Mark Potok, who tracks extremist groups for the SPLC. Members of these groups and others were involved in 5,796 “incidents” in 2012, the most recent year for which the FBI has compiled data. While that number declined from the 6,222 incidents reported in the prior year, 7,164 people were victimized.

<snip>

The FBI is charged under the Hate Crime Statistics Act with compiling statistics on hate crimes. In its most recent report, for 2012, it counted 5,796 incidents resulting in 7,164 victims. That was a decline from the previous year, in which the FBI tallied 6,222 incidents.

Separately, the Bureau of Justice Statistics has been collecting data on crimes motivated by hate since 2003 for its National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS). That survey, which includes data on crimes believed by the victims to have been motivated by hate but not reported to police, showed a spike in hate crimes from 2011 to 2012.

What trends do the data show?

According to the FBI’s data for 2012, most hate crime is motivated by race, accounting for 48 percent of all such reports.

Here are some other trends from the data since 1995:

Overall incidence of hate crimes

The number of hate crimes has fallen by about one-fourth over the years from 1995 through 2012, the latest year for which numbers are available. In 1995, the FBI counted 7,947 incidents. The count remained generally steady, with ups and downs, until the late 2000s, when it dipped into the 6,000s before hitting 5,796 in 2012. These changes could be attributable, in part, to variations in the agencies reporting to the FBI from year to year.

Average incidents per year

Over the entire period, the average number of incidents reported per year was 7,573, with an average of 9,455 victims per year. For the latest year, 2012, the numbers are 5,796 incidents with 7,164 victims.

Chart of hate crime incidents

Types of incidents

Race has generally fallen as a percentage of hate crimes (from about 60 percent to the high 40s), while sexual orientation has generally risen in share (from the low teens to about 20 percent).

Over the entire period, these were the average number of incidents reported per year, by type: race, 3,979; religion, 1,382; sexual orientation, 1,210; ethnicity/national origin, 951; disability, 52; multiple-bias, 5.

Race and ethnicity

The number of racial/ethnic incidents reported has fallen steadily, from about 6,000/year to about 3,500.

Hate crimes against blacks remain far more numerous than hate crimes against the far larger population of whites.

Chart: Hate crimes by race
Chart created by NBC News

Looking at racial and ethnic categories (and counting Hispanic and other national origins as separate categories, as the FBI does):

The racial categories have remained quite constant in share of incidents, aside from a sharp drop in anti-Asian incidents. For the latest year, the share of racial/ethnic incidents is: anti-black, 52 percent; anti-white, 19 percent; anti-Hispanic, 11 percent; anti-other ethnicity, 8 percent; anti-multile races, 3 percent; anti-Asian, 3 percent; anti-American Indian, 3 percent.

Religion

Unlike the decline in racial hate crimes, religious hate crimes have remained steady, falling only slightly.

Hate crimes against Jews remain far more numerous that hate crimes against the larger population of Christians. But the raw number of hate crimes against Jews has fallen, with part of that burden falling on Muslims.

What are hate groups?

The SPLC maintains a list of hate groups that “have beliefs or practices that attack or malign an entire class of people, typically for their immutable characteristics.”

The organization compiles its list using hate group publications and websites, citizen and law enforcement reports, field sources and news reports.

The SPLC also compiles a second list of “Patriot” groups that “define themselves as opposed to the ‘New World Order,’ engage in groundless conspiracy theorizing, or advocate or adhere to extreme anti-government doctrines.” But some experts say it isn’t always possible to draw a clear line between the two movements.

Do hate groups commit violence or simply try to instigate it?

There are no data on hate crimes committed by members of active hate groups, but many experts say that “lone wolf” sympathizers influenced by the group’s messages pose a bigger threat.

Which states have the most hate groups?

The SPLC lists these states as having the highest number of active hate groups:

California (77)
Florida (58)
Texas (57)
Georgia (50)
New Jersey (44)
New York (42)
Pennsylvania (41)

By comparison, Kansas had five active hate groups on the list: Crew 38 (racist skinhead, Wichita), Loyal White Knights of the KKK, Midland Hammerskins (racist skinhead, Wichita), National Socialist Movement (Neo-Nazi, Lansing), Westboro Baptist Church (anti-LGBT, Topeka).

The SPLC has a map listing the groups active in each state.

What hate ideologies attract the most followers?

The SPLC lists these ideologies as spawning the highest number of active hate groups:

KKK (163)
Neo-Nazi (143)
White Nationalist (128)
Racist Skinhead (126)
Christian Identity (37)
Neo-Confederate (36)
Black Separatist (115)
General Hate (191)

What are some of the most notorious hate crimes in recent years?

Matthew Shepard, a gay student at the University of the Wyoming, was beaten, tortured and left to die in October 1998 by two men who tied him to a fence, where he wasn’t found until the next day. Shepard died five days later from severe head injuries. His assailants received life in prison without parole.
Naveed Afzal Haq shot six women at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle in July 2006, killing one of them. He was sentenced to life without parole in 2009, plus 120 years.
Members of a gang known as the “Latin King Goonies” beat and robbed three gay men in the Bronx in New York in October of 2010. The group’s alleged leader pleaded guilty to gang assault and is serving 14 years in prison.
Wade Michael Page, who had ties to white supremacist organizations, shot and killed six people at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wis., and wounded four others in August 2012. He then committed suicide. Attorney General Eric Holder called it “an act of terrorism, an act of hatred, a hate crime.”

The fact the race of the two individuals involved in this case has become so important is appalling to me. This country is sick. I hope you agree.

That's ridiculous. Prosecutions don't start as soon as a file is opened.

You can quibble over definitions.

As far as I'm concerned, once I'm referred to a grand jury, I'm being prosecuted.

There's no way this is not going to a grand jury.

And it needs to. That community will explode otherwise.

It's disgusting, but race still matters in America. It's sad to say. But I don't even know why he brought in hate crimes in DC in the first place. It is irrelevant in this case. That was way out on the left field.

No, it often goes to a grand jury because a prosecutor doesn't feel he has enough reason to prosecute on his or her own, or doesn't want to prosecute on his or her own, without a grand jury looking at it first. The grand jury often gives the prosecutor political cover, by seemingly taking the decision to prosecute or not out of the prosecutor's hands.

The only thing that should be relevant in this case is whether the cop was justified in shooting and killing Brown, or not. Period.

Well, we're quibbling over technical words in a volatile but nontechnical setting.

The grand jury starts tomorrow.

As best as I can tell, that was in place before the Governor's statement.

I think the main place where you and me disagree is the same place where I part company with so many of the defenders of George Zimmerman, and the current defenders of Darren Wilson, and 99 percent of the people featured on the Fox News Channel, and for that matter, with the current majority on the U.S. Supreme Court.

You all seem to think these incidents occur in a pristine vacuum of racial harmony, and it's only the whining of black people, "libs," Eric Holder, and Barack Obama that prompts anyone to think of them in black/white terms. On the other hand, because I've lived in the United States of America for almost 52 years and have observed a few things, I think it's common sense that race was present all along, and that it's intellectually dishonest not to acknowledge that.

If the Democrats go the whole hog against the Ferguson cop its consequences bode poorly for negro/cop collisions in the future when problems are nipped in the bud out of sight. And Democrats will suffer at the polls everywhere, cuz everyone saw the video of Brown at the store and know the Democrats favor criminals over law and order.

Hopefully the Parcells story will start to make the rounds of the mainstream media. Here’s a local KC FOX report: http://fox4kc.com/2014/08/19/shawn-...-michael-brown-autopsy-questioned-by-doctors/

“I am a forensic pathologist assistant and medical investigator,” Parcells told FOX 4’s Shannon O’Brien. However, that’s something of a dubious title according to forensic pathologist Dr. Erik Mitchell.
“That is a degree that does not exist in my knowledge, except in the mind of Shawn Parcells,” Dr. Mitchell said. Dr. Mitchell takes issue with Parcells’ title. “You cannot claim the title, because it is a formal, licensable position. You can assist somebody; in this way I can say, for instance, I have paid my taxes, so I am an assistant President of the United States,” Dr. Mitchell said.

Was Mikey Brown really a MOSSAD agent and helping stop terror???????????

Ferguson Market Brown Robbed Laundered Money to Palestinian Terrorists

The Ferguson, Missouri store Michael Brown robbed likely financed Palestinian Islamic terrorism and was used as a front to illegally transfer funds to entities in the Palestinian Authority. The store sold stolen cigarettes (and other contraband), often a scheme by American Muslims to finance HAMAS and Hezbollah.

Ferguson Market & Liquor Was the Gateway to Palestinian Terrorism

When I learned that the market Michael Brown robbed was called “Ferguson Market & Liquor,” the name rang a bell. And one of my twitter followers (follow me on Twitter) reminded me that I’d written about its owners’ 2008 indictment for laundering money to and financing of Palestinian Islamic “entities” after an FBI Terrorism Task Force investigation, using the store as a front for that operation. They later pleaded guilty to the scheme. Here’s a flashback:

Fourteen people have been indicted on charges of using convenience stores to trade in stolen goods and contraband cigarettes, sending the profits to groups in the Palestinian territories. Five stores were raided Tuesday as part of an alleged racketeering organization and at least nine people were arrested, authorities said. The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force was involved in the investigation.

The indictment . . . said that since 2000, the organization profited from bank and wire fraud, receipt of stolen property and sales of contraband cigarettes. The organization, led by 33-year-old Bassam Hamed, operated convenience stores that were used to sell stolen goods, Hanaway said. He and two of his brothers were among the 14 people charged.

The indictment . . . said members of the “Hamed Organization” transferred money to “entities” in the Palestinian territories. Officials would not disclose those entities but said they were not individuals.

As I noted then, the “entities” probably had names like HAMAS, Islamic Jihad, Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, etc. Sadly, the men got very light sentences after pleading guilty to racketeering and money-laundering.

Since the current owners and managers of the store have repeatedly refused to give their names–and since they hired a lawyer who insists that the store did not “narc” to the cops about Brown’s robbery or release the video–I wondered who owns the “we didn’t snitch” market and whether it is still in the business of Islamic terrorism high finance.

I did a little research, and found that “Ferguson Market” is an alias used by a company called Roshan, LLC, founded in 2009, after eight of the 14 Palestinian-Americans pleaded guilty to using the store as a Palestinian money-laundering front. Roshan is organized by someone named Mahesh Patel, which is typically a Hindi Indian name. I don’t know if he is the only owner (an LLC can have several “members” with ownership interests). And while Roshan can be a Muslim name of Persian origin, it is also a Sanskrit/Hindi word for “light,” the apparent usage here.

So, it appears that once the Palestinians pleaded guilty Mr. Patel’s company acquired the store. His “we didn’t snitch” line is clearly something he felt he had to say, lest the violent Fergie protesters put him out of business permanently.

In any event, it’s good to know that Ferguson Market & Liquor no longer finances Islamic terrorism. But, sadly, now, it’s the victim of American terrorism by vandalous thugs on the streets of Ferguson.

Same difference. Or close enough.

Ole Mikey HERO Brown fka, DRUG INFUSED HULKING THUG should get an honor guard when he is buried, HUSSEIN obama should attend the state funeral:cool:

I think the whole thing has become an excuse for people to behave badly. Like when a sports team wins (or sometimes loses) people are aware that a riot is taking place and go there to loot opportunistically.

The fact that the "protests" keep getting out of hand and that a good number of the arrested are commuting to loot and/or protest, I think it is a matter of people wanting to say they participated.

I doubt that all of them from out of town actually care one way or another what happened beyond a surface level.

Mental health attracts plenty of such imposters. They come with a song and dance and almost no training or work related experience. Its not new. The famous Harvard professor Erik Erikson's credentials consisted of a high school diploma and some experiences hiking around Germany in his youth.
