New Witness to Michael Brown Shooting

Yes. Supposedly, he posted something this weekend, giving his side of the story.

Ahh. Missed that. Bet the city attorneys, or his own, had him yank that as soon as they got wind of it.

In this atmosphere the officer is in a precarious position right or wrong.

So?

Force can still be excessive, depending on the circumstances.

Right now, no one knows exactly what they were.

Regardless of how this all shakes out his career is over and he's going to have to continually watch his back. No force in the country is going to take on the controversy that he's going to dragging around like an iron tail for the rest of his life.

Actions have consequences, my friend.

I honestly don't want to make a subjective valuation on which dept is "better", but I feel the FBI can be much more impartial about things.

Yeah, there is always something that smells funny about finding yourself innocent. It is so obviously self-serving that it is not unreasonable to wonder if it is true.

If I were Chief/Sheriff, I'd have a standing arrangement with the State or the Feds to swoop and and handle the investigation on major incidents involving my department, just to assure the public at large that it was an investigation and not a white-wash.

Facts have no reason over emotion.

A BLACK UTE got shot...

AAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF is a UTE?

Quit messing with the old guy before I give you paper cuts with my Social Security Card. You know anything that old has to infect like hell.

You've been warned!

Yes, but "deadly force" is what it is, and center mass hits that stop are very likely to wind up in death. My point was, officers are not trained to shoot to wound.

Yes, but it goes toward INTENT. The intent is not to kill, it is to stop the action. Center of mass is to assure you don't launch "bystander bullets".

Brown was 6'4" 292lbs.

Yep, Elephant Gun.

"Ute" is a lame joke that AJ got from the movie "my cousin vinny".
Joe Pesci refers to "youths" as "utes" in the courtroom, and the judge (the late great Fred Gwynne) gets all confused.

Ya gotta keep up with the hepcat lingo, gramps.

Hey, dumbass, ever been on a range?

In his excitement, he kept pulling to his left...

... therefore, he had to keep shooting because the 6'4" 300lb innocent UTE kept coming like a defensive end on a mission to sack the QB. A defensive end that knew, for a fact, that he was going down for a crime...

All of the wounds are consistent with self-defense and not "execution."

If he was right handed, that means he was jerking the trigger. Which people tend to do under stress and fear.

Again with the fucking UTE? Really?

I see no reason this shooting warrants sending forty FBI agents to investigate it. There's no way in hell Holder would send forty FBI agents to investigate a police shooting of a white guy under similar circumstances. No way.

Holder is a political appointee. This was a political decision. Therefor....

Tiffany Mitchell said she saw Brown jerk as if shot in the back, which didn't happen. She also said she saw Brown fighting the officer through the window of his squad car. I suspect that was the fight for the officers gun which Brown lost. She also said she thought a shot was fired from within the car and she saw him backing up, which would be normal for a guy that was fighting an officer for his gun, only to find out the officer got to it first and it was pointed at him. At this point it becomes a question for investigators, the department shooting policy, and the officers beliefs.

Brown "jerked as if shot in the back", but "Brown was fighting the officer through the window of his squad car"?

Is there a grassy knoll near this scene?

Six shots, two to the head, sounds excessive, considering that there was no 911 call from the store.

???? That's one of the better non-sequiturs today. Right after the comma, it's like I just left the room and came back.

Thank you.

Actually, I saw that movie. I thought Marissa Tomei was great, as well as gorgeous.

It's just that the movie is so old, I didn't think that was what he was doing.

But I appreciate you clearing it up for me.

At first I didn't realize that was a link. I thought you were taunting me.

I was going to hope that you were sodomized by a white whale. Seems a shame to waste the Moby Dick reference.

But thanks for the link.

Yeah, it's dated. But according to congress anyone 26 years of age or younger are now mere children. So the term "Ute" is used not so much as an attempt to be funny, but more of a term of extreme sarcasm.

Poor Ishmael is still bitter than young people now have access to the same sort of health insurance that he gets now (for free, in his case).

This thread has all gone to speculation. The wingnuts will always want to believe the worst in the male victim of color. Nothing is new.

And you will always believe the worst of the police. Also nothing new.

Here's a great exercise you should try:

Go back over your own posts. Now every place it says "police", substitute "blacks". Read it out loud. How bad does that sound? How racist? How prejudiced?

You have become that which you despise.

BLUE IS THE NEW BLACK.

And you have NO idea what it's like to be a person of color in the US!
