Michael Brown was shot in the head and chest multiple times, according to Mary Case, the St. Louis County medical examiner.

While Case declined to comment further, citing the ongoing investigation into Brown’s death, another person familiar with the county’s investigation told The Washington Post that Brown had between six and eight gunshot wounds and was shot from the front.

In addition, Brown had marijuana in his system when he was shot and killed by a police officer on Aug. 9 in Ferguson, according to this person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.

The report from Case’s office was released to the St. Louis County prosecutor’s office on Friday night but has not been made public. This report is part of the county’s official investigation into the shooting, but it is one of three autopsies being conducted.

That they might be correct.

Parcells says a graze wound on Brown's right arm could have occurred in several ways. He says the teen may have had his back to the shooter, or he could have been facing the shooter with his hands above his head or in a defensive position.

The FBI ALWAYS sends a ton of agents on any case they take an interest in. The FBI likes to pretend that they are SO much better than mere local law enforcement agencies, any of them. The fact is that they have more resources. They'll send 40 agents whose ONLY job is this one investigation. And they can afford to order every lab test or computer simulation that they can think of. Local law enforcement does not have these advantages. Ask the detectives how many cases they have active.

I'm glad the FBI is so equipped and has these resources to put on cases. But I find their snobby attitude more than a bit offensive. Sometimes they assign more agents to a case than the local agency employs total. Of course they are going to get better results.

And they don't have to go to bar fights and roll around in the mud and the blood and the beer.

I see no reason this shooting warrants sending forty FBI agents to investigate it. There's no way in hell Holder would send forty FBI agents to investigate a police shooting of a white guy under similar circumstances. No way.

I'm unaware of anyone who said Brown was killed with a shot in the back. All the witnesses I'm aware of said he was facing the cop with his hands up when the fatal shots were fired.

Tiffany Mitchell said she saw Brown jerk as if shot in the back, which didn't happen. She also said she saw Brown fighting the officer through the window of his squad car. I suspect that was the fight for the officers gun which Brown lost. She also said she thought a shot was fired from within the car and she saw him backing up, which would be normal for a guy that was fighting an officer for his gun, only to find out the officer got to it first and it was pointed at him. At this point it becomes a question for investigators, the department shooting policy, and the officers beliefs.

Actually, it's not impossible that Brown got nicked by a shot while running from the cop. His arms would have been pumping up and down while running, and a bullet might have grazed his right arm. But that's not really that important, anyway. Everyone seems to agree he stopped running away from the cop, and turned to face him. It's what happened then that's in question.

It looks like a defensive wound, which makes sense. If someone in front of you is shooting at you, you will raise your hands and drop your head.
