New Witness to Michael Brown Shooting

I heard the other day when the story first broke that the cop was pushed into his car and a fight to seize his gun commenced with a shot being fired in the car. Don't know if it's true or not. This officer had a clean record and was in good standing. That doesn't prove anything, neither does the fact that the victim, moments before, committed a strong arm robbery; but they are but they are indicators.

O. J. SIMPSON was in "good standing" too.

Oh how cool, a real life former cop!

How many "perps" did you kill in your career?
How many times did you fire your weapon at a "perp"?
Were you "old school" or were you able to wear all that militarized stuff that departments loaded up on post-9/11?
How many riots did you handle?

I never killed anyone. Almost killed a couple, was starting to squeeze the trigger when they surrendered. I never even found anyone that was willing to let me shoot them. Probably because I was fast on taking out the shotgun, faster on the draw, and took barricade positions. When they see that gunplay is only going to get them killed, they seem to decide to surrender. Plus I would encourage them to do so. But if you want to dislike me, I DID choke out a lot of people, and in foot pursuits I tended to push them into poles or parked cars. Weighing 145 lbs, I was not going to arm wrestle with anyone.

I never fired my weapon at a suspect. The only times I fired my weapon on duty was at the range, or to put an animal out of its misery when it had been run over by a vehicle.

I wore a class III bulletproof vest under my uniform shirt. And often a riot helmet. I'd put them helmet on when driving pursuits, because I like what is inside my skull and want to protect it. I had a surplus Army ceramic combat vest that I wore for bomb calls. If I'd had better stuff available, I'd have used it.

Hmmmm. What is and what is not a riot? We had a couple of bars that the Fire Marshall said could hold 500 people. Friday or Saturday nights that number was way back in the rear-view mirror. Truly awesome bar fights there. One night I had 3 unrelated stabbings in the parking lot at the same time. Were they riots? Since they were at a bar, we called them bar fights. I think I could call the two civil insurrections at the Courthouse riots. I'll go with 2.

Are there any other questions you'd like answered in excessive detail? Care to ask about anything good that I did? Like delivering two babies?

The OP thinks 145lbs says you're a cunt.

Balladeer08, you made a grave mistake revealing your life story to RDS.

I suspect you'll regret it....especially if you become active in the politics.

I'm an ex-Deputy Sheriff, California P.O.S.T. Advanced Certificate, Bachelor's in Criminology, maintainted and E.M.T. Certification for ten years, F.B.I. certificates for fingerprints, firearms, gas... I was an above-average cop, or at least I tried to be. Also my father was a Chief of Police. I'm now in my 60's, so I know a lot about cops, over a lot of years. And a lot about the law, both in theory and in practice.

And the question wasn't condescension, there was nothing in your answer to indicate that you knew what I was talking about, and many people who do not know the term.

So what label, if any, would you apply to yourself?

Well you know how important it is for police officers to maintain good relationships with those in their community as a teacher should foster a strong interpersonal relationship in order for that student to learn. This goes for any job dealing with the public. Obviously in that town, the officers do not have a positive rapport with those that they are sworn to protect.

As for labeling, hums "I'm every woman...it's all in me."

I'm no fan of the cops and if unarmed people get shot there better be a good reason. I've already stated in other threads I do not like the militarization (co -opting) of the police by the government in the name of security. There is no way you can spin that as being good for citizen/police relations.

That being said I'm sick of Ferguson and the rioting. Now that the professional agitators & circus have come to Town (Sharpton & company) I care even less.

If the kid was wrongfully killed the cop should be charged go to trial based on the evidence but the current blackmail going on now (give us what we want or we will riot) is bullshit. You want to live in society then act civilized.

Kudos to the people trying to stop the riots and protecting businesses from being looted and burned. Shame on the media for only covering the thieves & thugs rioting and dividing the people for their political allies is what they do best.

I am not a politician, and my other habits are good also.

And that is just a slice of my life story. My life also existed off-duty, and before and after I was a cop.

High school football team? College? Army?

62 years is too much life to fit into 1 profession. These days, I design t-shirts. 8)

Who is blackmailing? Who is the bolded response for?

The OP thinks a 145 pounder with a two pound pistol carries a lot of weight.

Just to show how square I can be, and how crass he is, it took me a while to realize he was asking if I am female. I am not. I was born with my mother's features and my father's fixtures.

Yeah, the militarization of law enforcement is, IMHO, a bad thing. Too many supervisors who think they are the second coming of Patton. And it emphasizes all the wrong things for the public. For example, I was "allowed" to wear my firearms expert badge, but not my EMT Star of Life. I never wore the firearms badge.

I think they should go back to old-fashioned names for the ranks. No Lts. and Capts., no para-military ranks at all. Patrolperson (actually, I prefer Patrolman or Patrolwoman as the case may be. Genderless people are weird.), inspector, detective, constable, anything but military ranks or emblems.

I also do not support the "grooming standards" that force the officers to not look like the people in their community. For what I think are obvious reasons.

Bi-lingual ability should pay extra. As should higher medical training, and higher education (if it is relevant. a Phd in pushups doesn't impress me). I doubt it will ever happen.

I also favor physical fitness standards. Fat cops embarrass me. Today at the gym I did 12 chinups. I can do situps until the cows come home. There should be performance standards to meet. Again, I doubt it will ever happen.

Waiting to read his response after I inquired to who he is directing his "acting civilized" comment. People have been killed for their differences throughout history despite 'acting civilized'.

Civilized people do not loot and burn stores of innocent merchants which have nothing to do whatsoever with what your protesting about. Nobody has tried to stop the peaceful protests. Even Browns family have asked the rioters to stop, but there's no stopping people looking for an excuse to steal.

Blackmail, demanding arrest and charging the officer before the investigation is complete. No Justice, No peace is definitely blackmail. How many times has that fraud Sharpton played that card?

BTW I didn't bold those words you did Nowisthetime85, regardless either way its a good point.

Bolding is for anyone who thinks 2 wrongs make a right.

It's not blackmail, it's the right thing to do. Too often police abuse of power goes unpunished.

Tennessee cop fired after choking college student.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2614386/Tennessee-police-photographed-choking-unresisting-college-student-passes-out.html

And this kid was white. He was fired but not charged with a crime. It goes beyond race when brute cops misuse their power.

And people get sick of it.

"No justice, no peace", sounds about right.

Bash Sharpton all you want, but he has spent his life championing those without a voice, more so than couch potatoes who always have something negative to say. We wouldn't need the Sharptons and Jacksons if everything was all fair.

I'm no fan of police because I have had my share of bad encounters with some folks who had no business wearing a badge. Having said that they are due the same consideration and vice versa. If you ask me a lot of these shootings wouldn't happen if the police patrolled 2 in a car like the old days. Classic errors in Judgment.

Vote to raise your property taxes, move to a safer location, or just be satisfied with killing the thugs. Your choice.
