You are full of shit. I have yet to meet a man that I fear. I have arrested many people over 6'2" and 270 pounds and was never afraid of them. Yes we need more black police officers, but that is hard when the black community looks down on the profession as they do. The black officers I worked with were considered Uncle Toms in their own community. Clean your own house before you try to tell someone else how to clean theirs.

So, is the cop black? The stories I saw on NBC, CNN and CBS don't give his race. If he is black, then this "excellent" witness Tiffany Mitchell is, in reality, a really shitty witness. Why in the hell would she lie about that? The kid isn't coming back to life regardless, why wouldn't you want the real asshole who did it, to pay for it? Sad story, we all need to get our heads out of our asses to some degree.

I'm not saying that we don't need more diversity in our police force but that's not a be-all end-all solution.

I understand your concerns. But you're defending the cop pretty strongly, and I'm wondering why. I don't think it's just because he's legally entitled to be considered innocent. And it can't be because you know all the facts. So what is it?

I am defending his right not to be convicted and lynched by the press which is purposely telling only one story. As I predicted, in the other thread I think, once the news came out that our innocent Ute was not so innocent, the crowd went bananas again. How dare the police release anything that counters their firmly held belief that, as Lance so warmly framed it, that there is a hunting season on blacks. If it turns out that the facts come down against the cop, then I will get fully behind the idea of prosecution and punishment, but I'll be damned if I will let the Liberal Press goad me into one of their favorite memes, there are no bad minorities, only bad cop (and white people).

It not facts I know, but the proclivities of the "beautiful people" that I grew up with and was a part of in the 60s and 70s, I know better than they know themselves, because they lie to themselves about who they actually are.

It was related to the behavior exhibited on that day.

The officer encountered the ruffian shown in the video, not some innocent, gentle giant peacefully picking up the last of his school supplies.

The local media knew about that video, but as I pointed out before, just like in the Zimmerman case, the National Liberal press already had their story written and were going to suppress negative information while promoting clean witnesses, which btw touab, Jeantell was considered to be until she actually took the stand and started flapping her ignorant gums. It was their failure to objectivity that led to the meltdown last night because it took their useful tools completely off-guard and then turned their anger to another common Liberal meme, "How dare you blame the victim."

How many times have we seen this before, both from the press and from the 'knee-jerks' here on the board?

Kobe Bryant, the Duke Lacrosse boys, the Atlanta Bomber, the Georgia truck driver, Zimmerman. The list goes on and on where the press and the mindless pack convict based on hearsay evidence and then, later, when essentially all the facts come out, they either eat crow or contort the facts beyond reason to justify their opinion.

Of course the press and the Al Sharpton's just pack their bags and leave town never having to take responsibility for the shit they've stirred up.

That is NOT to say that the officer involved in this shooting didn't act rashly or that he shouldn't deserve some sort of legal punishment. It IS to say that most here are acting on half of a story.
