Nowadays? I think it's because people are bombarded with too much information so they can't get a clear view of what's happening. Loyalty is something that's earned through personal perspective of others actions. When you get fifty perspectives, it's hard to piece together a consistent story so loyalty wavers.

And also some people are just greedy assholes.

How do you think the pace of technology has affected interpersonal relationships?

Haha, they are at that!

I think it's become very easy to express yourself through technology when you don't have to face someone to tell them how you feel. I don't necessarily think it's a good thing, because you're not held accountable as it's considered to many as 'nothing personal'.

I think part of the population is progressing and part is just staying stagnant, in America most of the stagnation is with those involved or interested in politics because this is the most polarized America has been in a long while. I do think medicine and technology have been progressing the human race, not necessarily in a progressive manner though.
