The infamous LW anonymous comments controversy

As a relatively new writer and reader of Literotica stories, I have become fascinated by the comments that I consistently read from anonymous contributors in the Loving Wives category. From what I understand, this has been a long-running topic of controversy on this site. What I'm hoping to learn from the long-time veterans here is why this controversy exists, and what actions (if any) have the web masters of Literotica considered as a remedy.

The Loving Wives category is explicitly described as "Married extra-marital fun: swinging, sharing & more." So why do so many readers of this category appear surprised, disgusted and outraged to find stories of husbands who share their wives with other men?

More importantly: why do they go through the trouble of leaving comments for these types of stories, when it seems obvious that they didn't even read them? The same generic comments are repeated over and over again. What goal are they trying to accomplish by leaving such hateful and insulting comments?

Some of these commentators seem to believe that "cuckhold stories belong in the Fetish category." If the story is about a husband who gets off on the humiliation of seeing his wife have sex with another man, or who is acting in a submissive role in a Dom/sub relationship with his wife (or her lover), then I would agree that Fetish might be a better category for such a story. But if the story is about a husband who simply enjoys sharing his wife because he finds it sexy and exciting, I don't see how that can be called a "fetish", and I doubt that Literotica would classify it as such.

I've written a few stories in the LW category, and even when I go through the trouble of giving my stories a title and description that clearly reveals the subject matter, I still get nasty comments. I've even attached a disclaimer at the top of a story to warn those who are easily offended, and I STILL get nasty comments. It's not like I'm tricking people into reading my stories.

There are many sexual practices that I find distasteful, which is why I don't read any of the stories that involve those practices. I can't understand the motivation of someone reading a story they know they will find distasteful, and then leave an angry comment to express their disgust.

Any insight that anyone can share with me on this topic would be appreciated.

LW is LITs Olympics. The other categories are for thin skinned, glass-jawed, candy-assed sissies. If you wanna kill your darlings LW is where you take them.

First answer is that the sites "action" is in the form of the author being able to disable comments on a story. There are two options. One for all feedback, one from anon.

Advantage? Not dealing with moronic belligerent comments.

Drawback? You miss out on the decent feedback you could get.

As for the point of the comments? You're correct that the description of the category is done well enough that people should know what they are reading

Understand that the faction that leaves the worst of the feedback are bitter men who obviously have been cheated on at some point and now hate all women.

They will scorch you to high heaven if the cheating wife "gets away with it" They will also clap their hands and cheer if a cheating wife is set up to be gang raped by the husband and all his friends, or drugged and sold into prostitution and the husband has a direct feed to watch her be raped repeatedly by her slavers (an actual story)

So what you are dealing with is scorned helpless bitter men who loathe women. They have been cheated upon ion the past and many may be pussy whipped and living the cuck life, but in r/l they are spineless and impotent so online they are rage filled hate filled belligerent assholes who are yelling and screaming about men and women who do not exist.

End of the day? Simply put that faction, which of course is the most vocal, are pretty much the most pathetic crowd here on lit and to give them even the mention of this thread is more than they deserve.

I was threatened to have my "bitch ass" raped after a story there and had several other threats of beatings and raping and being shown my place.

I never replied, but have wondered what they would say if they knew I was male and would have no qualms of sending them to meet their maker. They all assumed I was female because the wife got the better of the CHEATING husband.

You have two options if you would like tow write there.

ignore the comments officially by blocking them or just ignore them by leaving them there and just reading through the decent ones.

Your the author, its your choice, but if you're looking for "something to be done" that's a dead end. They have the right to comment as idiotically as they choose.

I turned off ANONYMOUS comments as no one ever leaves comments that are worth a shit, I mean, its either vitriol or useless flattery. In fact, I cant recall ever reading useful comments on any story. Most LIT writers are SCORE WHORES and don't relish anything but flattery.

Nah, some of us like the abuse.:D

Oddly, I've never noticed this supposedly pandemic problem the few times I posted a story there.

Be that as it may, the answer to your question is that people like being offended. Or more accurately, they like running down "offensive" things. You ask why, if they don't like a certain kind of story, do they simply not read those stories, and the answer is because they *want* to read stories with content they find distasteful and then they want to tell you how and why they find it distasteful, because that is in itself as gratifying in some ways as reading a story they do like. This is actually not uncommon human behavior.

Good point.

In the recent feedback section I see comments condemning a story for incest and rape, but the stories were posted in Non consent and incest. So....what did you expect and why are you there?

I think in those cases its moral freaks who get turned on by the material then get mad and lash out at others because they have "sinned"

I freely admit that I enjoy the positive feedback as well as the constructive criticism. The scores matter less to me, but it's nice to get a high score. If I weren't interested in whether or not people enjoy my stories, I wouldn't post them on a public forum at all.

I don't let the LW anons bother me, and in fact, they amuse me more than anything else. I'm just trying to understand their motivation. It seems like there is a background story that I'm missing, which would explain their behavior. Do they believe that if they leave enough nasty comments that Literotica will create a new category for "wimpy cucks?" Are their goal to discourage all LW authors from writing any new material? I just don't get it. (Although I think I may have just answered my own questions!)

One of my LW critics kinda-sorta confirmed Tami-Lins observation.

He normally starts a comment with a tirade but today he's stumped as to what to do about my story, its LW red meat but the husband is gay, and the other womans hubby is in jail for drug trafficking. So my critic isn't sure what to scream about. He's been cheated!

When I started posting on LIT a few months ago, I had a notion to gather high scores. I'm a fairly competitive person; I *like* lotsa brownie points. Then my twenty-odd submissions' scores were one-bombed into oblivion after I posted a much-hated tale on LW. And I received scads of hatemail from LW's fucktard faction.

I reconsidered my motivations. I decided that brownie points aren't really important, so I have disabled voting on the vast majority of my posts -- I now only allow voting on my (mostly satirical) essay-type pieces. I'm here for the fun of it, not for votes.

I decided to retain comments, even from Anon fucktards (sometimes referred to as trolls, but we know better). I wear those brain-dead missives as a badge of honor or something. I've only deleted a couple comments that were totally irrelevant. The rest can stand; even the moronic ones are funny, in context. See my .sig for examples.

What to do about this shit? Remember the saying: "Never wrestle with a pig. You'll just get covered with slop, and the pig will rather enjoy it." Treat comments the same way.

NOTE: I have a couple submissions in the pipeline that will DEFINITELY rouse the fucktards into foaming flaming fury. It'll be fun to watch, heh heh.

I watched an old vid about Werner von Braun the other night. He was Hitler's and America's chief rocket genius. The expert narrator says Braun never worried about failure or winning the war, he used every test to learn more about rocket science.

Yes, well, maybe. The U.S. had to clean his reputation up when taking him from building people-killer bombs for the Nazis to building rockets for the United States. Who knows what the real story behind Von Braun's motivations and image is?

On the LW anonymous comments, I don't fight with the readers for the supposedly thrill of irritating a group of them. I write the stories I want to write and post them where they have to post. I have a few LW stories, but all were written in playing what I thought I could do with such a squishy-defined category. And the ones I've written haven't done too badly as far as anonymous comment attack--maybe because my motivation was the story, not poking the lion.

Sure. Speer, von Braun, and others were smart enough to know what was up. Yuh gotta wonder how come Speer was sacrificed.

I had a really dumb idea while reading some of the posts in this thread. What if a lot of the LW comments are from a small group of people who, for whatever reason, make the comments as part of a mission to discredit the authors and Lit and erotica in general.

Perhaps a small church group from a fundamentalist sect. Their pastor has told them about Lit and how there are stories where women don't know their place and put themselves above their lawful husbands and masters.

So they go in and write their comments and 1-vote the story to punish the author.

I lived in Texas for 25 years, earlier in my life. I have met people who belong to churches who would do it if their pastor told them. And do anything else he told them to do. Scary people.

OK so does this make me a paranoid conspiracy theorist?

Some LW writers score high. And even the trolls are uncommonly loyal followers. LW is a good place to try out ideas, because the readers hate almost everything anyway. An average score of 3 at LW is like a 4+ anyplace else at LIT. And you get more reads.

What I wonder is if these LW cyber tough guys-and I doubt many, if any, of these people are women. The comments all scream misplaced testosterone to me.

But I wonder if these people who think they are upsetting the authors realize how many of us laugh at them. That we post their comments i threads and mock them and that many here will submit a story just to tick them off and send them frothing,'

Of course they do get to some authors which is a shame because laughing at them is pretty much what they are worth.

I was just browsing through the Feedback Portal and came across this comment. The irony of this comment is so amazingly delicious, I can't help but share it. This was posted in the "Incest" category, so at least it's nice to know that these comments aren't limited to LW.

Comment:
"Were you sitting there in your mommie's panties and bra, rubbing your pathetic little trannie dick while jerking out this crap? Delete this shit and take it to the trannie/cross-dresser genre to share with all the other freaks, wannabe gays and weirdo's, and let the normals be free of your sick little boy-fuck fantasies. If I could give it minus 10 stars I would, this isn't incest, it's just crap."

Even paranoid schizophrenics have enemies.

I'm really replying to the comments you (Hypoxia) received that you put in your signature line, this one in particular:

Right Under His Eyes (satire) - "YOU ARE A SICK FUCK. WHY WOULD YOU WRITE THIS HORRIBLY VILE STORY. THIS IS HUMANITY AT ITS WORST. I ONLY SKIMMED TO SEE WHAT CRAP IT WAS. YOU NEED TO BE LOCKED AWAY FROM ANYONE YOU COULD HURT FOR REAL. MINUS 1 BILLION ISN'T ENOUGH. DON'T WRITE ANYMORE." --Anonymous

I swear I saw almost the same comment on one of my stories last year. I think I deleted it, due to the 'locked away' comment. That's the part I remember. These guys don't even come up with different comments but recycle previously used ones.

I pretty much don't delete anything anymore except for the ones that say I should be killed. And I've only written 2 or 3 LW stories. Although I'm working on a couple more.

I've finally gotten to the point where I can laugh at them. Or pity the poor schmucks who write them.

BTW its a great idea, Hypoxia, to put these quotes in your signature line. I may copy that idea.

Thanks for the story idea, Greg!

This would make a great story, I think. Mind if I steal it?

Hmm....

I take it you mixed another fetish in with incest.

some categories "mix" well others not so much.

Incest is not fond of finding peanut butter in its chocolate.

You're welcome. I stole the idea from those satirical books covered with critical blurbs. Most of those book blurbs are actually written by the author or editorial staff, of course. Mine are real.

Maybe LIT authors could have a competition, see who's accumulated the most and worst.

I'll submit a few more stories soon, some of which I *KNOW* will gather hatemail. Stay tuned for the latest round of fucktard inanity.

I didn't bother to read this because all the author wants is to piss off real men who believe that wedding vows should be honored. The euro trash queer only wants comments so here's a comment. GA, just because you can't stop sitting in your mother's house, tugging on your five centimeters of patheticness, dreaming about someday actually meeting a female and then watching the entire population of Madrid make her squeal while your dad tosses your salad, doesn't make you better than those of us who expect our betrothed to keep it in their pants. Keep your cucky shit out of lw and preferably off the net.
