Who's watching the Olympics?

I will be watching the opening ceremonies and snowboarding, and will also be cheering on the Canadian Hockey teams (both men's and women's).

Ooh. I'm sorry. I thought we could be friends. I still haven't forgiven Sidney Crosby for the Vancouver gold. (Pittsburgh Pens are my #2 team.) I'm more interested in the women's games though.

;)

Canadian figure skating pair- skating to music he wrote. OVERACHIEVER!!

I plan on watching hockey if/when I can find it, men's and women's. PennGirl would enjoy the figure skating, so again, if/when I find it, I'll let her watch that.

I will join you in rooting against Sidney Crosby this time. :) I love women's hockey even more.

My girlie figure skates, and my boys play hockey. We'll be watching.

Will watch the men's downhill on Sunday if its at a reasonable time

Olympics? What Olympics? I haven't paid attention.

On television? What television? I don't have a TV.

All the more reason to have a recorder of some sort.
I like the Downhill events.

May one ask WHY ?
Don't they have news media near you, or are you all together too saturated with it already? (I can sympathise with that).

Use your computer/ Games console, netflix box ?

Is cricket an event? :)

Not this year, Sam, and certainly not in Winter, more's the pity.

I've never been a sports fan. And I've seen enough Olympics over the decades. Ya, I'm saturated.

No games console, no netflix, and my net connection out here in the boonies (a remote tiny rural mountain hamlet) is not very fast. RT videos always jerk.

If I were interested, I could commandeer an in-law's 60" screen and watch. But I'm not interested.

(Note about lacking a games console: Back in the day, I played many games. Then I started writing them. Playing then became tedious. Creation is much more fun and satisfying.)

Watching opening ceremonies (they're showing them tonight for us) to see the U.S. in those, um, eye-catching cardigans; will watch snowboarding and figure skating.

I'll watch here and there. I love hockey...USA! USA! And I love the bobsled, luge and skeleton races. I like the skiing too. If any of the female skaters are hot I might tune into that....

I've just watched all the Talking Heads on the BBC and then the actually ceremony.
The organisers have put a great deal of effort into the presentation and it worked pretty well (apart from the last Olympic Ring which stubbornly remained a snowflake).
With a cast of thousands and loads of fire-works the lighting of the Cauldron was an impressive sight.
If you ain't seen any of it so far, I commend it to you, if only for the colour and animations.

The first Terrorist Team event has been played at the Olympics. A Ukrainian hijacked a plane from Istanbul, saying there was a bomb aboard, and wanted it to take him to Sochi--during the Olympics opening ceremony. He was subdued, the plane was diverted back to Istanbul, and no bomb was found--but before there is a sigh of relief, I'll note that a commercial airliner, loaded with fuel, IS a flying bomb.

I (of course) liked the Canadian "stick it to the Russians" GM commercial using a bobsled. :D

Recording everything we can, spending every evening after work, watching what we want and fast forwarding through everything else. At the moment, watching short track speed skating. Love it. Watched the 1000 metres speedskating, the final of the pairs skating, the first two runs of the women's skeleton, and the first qualifying heat of the men's skiing freestyle slope.

And there's a zamboni on the ice!! My wife is SOOO excited. :D
