Welcome to the Official Weather Thread. Here, we sit in our rocking chairs on the front porch, glare at the kids as they walk by the house, talk about the weather, and bang our canes against things for emphasis.

(Confession: I almost titled this "The Official Bitch-About-The-Weather" thread, but I thought maybe some people might actually want to talk about how nice it is.)

Today, at nearly 6 pm in East-Central Alabama, it is 50F (10C) outside. The relative humidity sits at 51%. I'm in my house, and it's still cold as fuck. Don't laugh at me, dammit! Wet cold gets in your bones and freezes you from the inside out.

Hate. Winter.

*Pulls afghan around shoulders and mutters about moving to retirement home in South Florida*

In Dallas, it is in the upper 30s and wet, with northerly winds. A blue norther is expected to blow through during the night, dropping freezing precipitation sometime before morning (not much)... followed by the potential for 2" of ice tomorrow evening.

Sigh.

It was 85 last weekend.

It's in the mid-50s here and we've been gifted with a third day of precious rain. Fields are soggy, washes are flooded, stupid motorists are stupid, and the air smells so sweet.

My hair is extra-curly and my shoulder aches a bit from the cool dampness, but this kind of rain is incredibly rare here, especially this time of year. I'm grateful for every drop, and thankful that I, at least, have sense enough to stay out of the flooded areas. :D

I will decline the porch sitting invite, or at least ask for a rain check. It's 12F.

That happened here...last week? Or maybe week before last. In the 80s for a couple of days, in the 40s for 3 or 4 days, rain, and then back to the 70s. It is NOT supposed to be this freaking cold here yet.

I've always wondered what it'd be like to live somewhere that it didn't rain very often. We always have a lot of rain here, with fall being the comparatively "dry" season (still with upwards of 3 inches per month) and rain every afternoon in the summer. It would be different, to say the least.

Also, even with all the rain we get here, people still don't know how to drive in it, so y'all are not the only ones. :p

Aaaaand suddenly I feel bad for bitching. :p

We've been having small snow squalls with blustery winds and a temp of 19F

I like snow. I'm not complaining

1:00am: 70F, 90% humidity.

This is a chilly night for me. Also, that's not so bad humidity wise. (^ω^)

It'll get to 35F tonight, still damp from all the rains and windy as well.

Cold and damp do not play well with fibromyalgia. *stomps cane for emphasis* At least the damp won't hurt my cane- its ballistics grade plastic that can break cinder blocks (or idiots).

When it's warm, it's not bad humidity-wise. When it's chilly, it's...unpleasant.

Yep, now I really feel bad for complaining.

I'm still cold as fuck, though.

We had unusually warm weather for the season but now it's getting colder. I hope the snow stays away until my new winter tyres get here.

Same here. Today was the first time I wore my winter coat this fall/winter, and it was still a little bit too warm. At least next week the temperature's supposed to drop below zero (C/below 32F).

The fall's been really beautiful, dry and sunny except for the past 10 days or so. This weekend's again been sunny and crisp, the sky's been clear and now that the sun's setting (at 3:20 pm...), the light is amazingly pink. :)

I'm waiting for snow to come, though, because the days are so dark. Snow lightens up everything.

It's 21F here and feels like 12F but I'm not complaining. We've just got a skiff of snow but my son got 28" of snow this weekend! Snow is pretty but I'm glad I'm not shovelling it.

BiBunny, no need to feel bad, it's all relative.

Me, I'm just about to sit down to a nice chai tea latte and then will bundle up when I go out to see the latest Hunger Games movie. I am, after all, from the true north strong and free.

60F and 67% humidity. Totally straightened my hair and successfully kept it that way :D

*Jealous*

It's 32F (0C) here. I gave up trying to convince myself that it'd warm back up soon and just turned the fucking heat on.

Ok, I know I'm going to get things thrown at me, but ...

I love winter, because then the sun stays behind the clouds and doesn't hurt my eyes. Plus, the weather is cool so I feel better (too hot weather makes me nauseus).

However, this winter is ticking me off, because, while it's cold, the sun WON'T STAY BEHIND THE CLOUDS. I am so sick of getting home from running errands with a headache because the sun just had to be in the one spot that the sun visor wouldn't block THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS DRIVING.

Grr.

I like winter, too! That's because I live where it doesn't snow and we don't have a full spectrum in weather. It's so hot and humid here that when it finally cools off I can wear all the cute layers and pretty fashions I want!

The high is 72F, today.

Calling for snow here tonight, kinda hoping it's a little worse than forecasted so Thanksgiving Break can begin early!

They keep wavering back and forth on whether it's going to snow here this week or not. At the moment, the weather says rain and sleet, but earlier today, it said snow.

I repeat: They can't decide if it's going to snow. In Alabama. In November.

*Sigh*

I woke up to a dusting of snow on the ground and roads. Driving my son to school I was behind a line of cars moving very slowly. A whole new group of teenage drivers venturing out on snowy roads for the first time. It was great to see they were being so careful.

I love snow. But only when I don't have to drive anywhere. Today I have to drive 2 hrs each ways to pick up my daughter at college. That's two hrs in good weather with no traffic.

It's going to be a long day.
