Republican Health Policy

I thought that was only if you were below a certain income level, otherwise you'd buy a policy from an insurance company and the policy had to meet certain minimum requirements for various price points, but otherwise they could offer what they wanted.

You can. If you choose not to you can get medicare.

Except that's never actually worked.

Dont be a sompleton. Heathcare worked till government got in the mix

Also just look at elective plastic surgery and how inexpensive that has become over the years

Government is the problem ... PERIOD

i realize stupid people need jobs but enough is enough

Where is elective cosmetic surgery inexpensive?

Where there is competition ....

Plastic surgery is a lot less today then it was ten year ago due to competition.

I rralize that you are pretty ignorant with limited real world experience

Another example, computers! Look at price over the years...competition

I knoe you obama kind hate :: competition! As that requires work and you obana folks are super lazy

A boob job is like $5000! That's not cheap.

The code will tell all. If it was purchased on an exchange and the doctor isn't part of the program you probably aren't going to see the doctor. The code could be as simple as an A - Z prefix or suffix. Pull up the underwriters chart, scan down to the appropriate code, wallah, to treat or not to treat and how much the co-pay etc. is.

And they are ALL coded right now. Cigna's code is different from BCBS which is different from Aetna's etc. All of which underwrite different group and individual plans with different co-pays, limits, services covered, yadda yadda yadda.

Ishmael
Oh, so it will be exactly the same way it has been for the last several decades.

This is a perfect example to your mental deformity

Boob job used to cost $50,000

Math lesson 5k is less then $50k.....

You are welcome

Yeah, and that still doesn't make it inexpensive. I'm not saying it hasn't gone down. A PS3 was $700 at launch. When it dropped to $400 it didn't suddenly become inexpensive. It became less expensive. Expensive with a modifier. As in still expensive.

If you're over 65 and you've paid payroll taxes for at least ten years, the answer is yes.

Are you one of those less fortunates that never said a dime due to wasting your welfare check on xboxes, games, and crack and the only retirement fund u hope to cash in on is social security?

Why do you expect society to reward your bad and stulid decision making ability?

I'm not talking about people who meet certain criteria that have always been there, I meant the general population who don't have health insurance or sub-par insurance. In other words, things that are new with Obamacare.

In the states where ACA is renamed "Medicare", like mine, you don't have to be over 65, you just have to be old enough to not get KCHIP, which is 18 now.

It depends on the state. In Ky you can. In other states it has a different name, but it's basically medicare. You may have to pay a small fee for the services if you aren't under the poverty line, but it's far below what most private insurance is costing.

That's the reason people are bitching about it. Medicare, and by extension the ACA is funded by taxpayer dollars. It would be similar to people who have no children bitching because they're still taxed in order to pay for public schools. They feel that they're paying taxes, yet receiving no benefit.

Yea yea yeah...i get it. You are lazy and want everything for free

This is why you are poor

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Hmmm..I was not aware of that.
I have no problem with my taxes helping to pay for insurance for people who can't afford it, but if you can afford it and just decide to get it paid for by the "state", so you can use your money for luxury items, that I don't agree with.
That's different than the school taxes, IMO.

There must be some disconnect here, I can't believe that's how it is designed to work.

Well, like I said, if you can afford it, you have to pay to be able to use it. But it's cheaper than most private companies. The idea being that private companies will have to lower their prices to compete.

A lover of the welfare...awesome job, slacker!

There was never a time in US history that the government wasn't in the mix. That's just the reality of things Jen, it was less involved at certain times and most of that had to do with crap technology that didn't allow them to interfere much but that's just reality.

Elective surgery is a terrible place to look. Elective surgery is by defintion elective. You have time to shop around and can choose where to take your business. When you get shot, collapse in the street, wake up with your child vomiting, live in a secluded place or a thousand other things you don't have the luxury of shopping around.

Government is not the problem unless you're a twit.
