Worn out Body Parts- This sucks!

Had to drive some nails yesterday on some decking I replaced, my old pitching arm hurts today. When I was young, and would throw 80 or so pitches in a game, I would ice a little afterwards, but hey, I recovered quickly, and could pitch again on a few days rest.

Now, years later, I can't throw a baseball much. About seven years ago, some of my co-workers wanted to see me throw a few. So we got some baseballs, after some light warm up tosses and stretching, I was feeling pretty good, no pain for years. So I threw one kind of hard. A nice strike. Feeling cocky, I threw the next one a little harder. Another strike. So now I was really going to show them. A full windup, good kick, and hard throw.

Halfway through the throwing motion, TWANG! My elbow gives out. I let the ball go, it sails high and into the backstop. My elbow is throbbing. Ice and ibuprofen, and that damn elbow hurt for two months.

Amelia and Christine should have given me a 'get better' double blowjob with a cum kissing finale between the two for my trouble.

Ha!

Not too long ago I bought my nephews a radar gun for Christmas. They were both solid AAU players and now one is pitching Varsity as a Soph...

Lots of people at the house, pig roasting in the back yard, beers going down smooth and we break out the gun. Their father, other Uncle and myself decide to have a contest. Drunk, without warming up and throwing as hard as possible.

Couldn't move my arm for a week. Worst part? Could only throw 71.

My eyes are shot, but that's been true since high school. My blood pressure is creeping upward, and that runs in the family.

Most of my problems are just being out of shape, really. I need to join a gym or buy a bike.

A couple yrs back, they came out with a health food store supplement made of ground up chicken breastplate gristle, honest. Its real similar to joints and tendons,of which you can also eat off the chicken, and spare ribs ,instead of leaving it on the plate.

If you go to www.swansonvitamins.com you can look up stuff to use on joints, just window shopping. One catalog Im looking atsays JointHealth & Mobility section, couple pgs,Has combo pills/caps that contain :Glucosamine, chondroitin,& Hyaluronic Acid;UC-II contains chicken collegen/breastplate gristle, that has glucosamine/chondroitin in it.

Herbal Joint care formula has boswellia,cats claw,Tart Cherry,White willow.A couple more have the glucosamine,chondroitin ,& MSM;Mobility Essentials has yucca,sea cucumber,devils claw,quercitin,white willow,boswellia ext,MSM,Glucosamine,Zinc, manganese,vit C,Bromelane and chondroitin,180 caps for $10.99 & S/H...

Their form of chicken sternum is called "Hyal-Joint",for Hyaluronic Acid, says its 20mg per cap, bottles of 60 count.Best Wishes in controlling your symptomatologies...

Quite a few descriptions in this thread involve sexual health, so I'll just add that if I could figure out what keeps my cock young and apply it to my other bits, I'd feel as though I'm 18 again.

Go ceramic. Don't let them sell you the titanium.

I asked about ceramic. They're pretty new and more durable, unless you fall a lot. Then you have something called "catestrophic hip failure".

The biggest drawback I'm seeing is the 28 day convalescence period.

As they wear they get smoother and move with less friction. Every day is better then the day before. The other stuff wears out.

For the most part I am still doing quite well. I hurt sometimes, but I have a high pain tolerance and I dread to think it's more than a pulled muscle, I deny it could be the start of arthritis or anything like that. I fell off a quad a few years back and so every now and again my upper thigh hurts, a dull constant pain that will keep me up if I don't take something. I'm not a fan of medicine, so I only take it if I have to.

I'm still wondering when menopause is going to hit and how crazy that is going to make me.

I feel the pain, and share the experience. At least you had beer.

Has anyone has laser eye surgery? I would probably still have to wear glasses to drive, but the idea of waking up and being able to see is pretty appealing, and my eye doctor cleared me for it.

Then I watched a video of the procedure. Worst idea ever. Of everyone I've talked to who's had it done, no one has regretted it, but I'm having a really hard time getting past the stomach-churning factor.

My youngest had surgery on both eyes, they cut the muscles and reattached them. If she can handle that, I think the LASIK will be ok.

So far my dr says I can't have it.

First, second and third degree burns on my legs; a dislocated knee; disintegrating cervical vertebrae; rotator cuff injury; a boxer's fracture of my left hand; early-onset cataracts, etc.

But I'm feeling much better now. :cathappy:

I feel I got really messed up back in my 20s by having a ACTH treatment done by IV over 24 hrs.Steroids are what a lot of doctors do on arthritis and auto immune conditions,as well as stuff like MS.

The problem is,they turn down your bodies thermostat permanently, for making your own steroids out of your adrenal glands.Stuff like natural cortisone.

So after the IV wore off in a week,I was feeling like I was about ready for a wheelchair, like for the next 5 yrs...Maybe it was worse for me,because Ive had low testosterone lifelong besides....On top of that,I was diagnosed with heart trouble,& ws put on a alpha adrenergic blocker for trtmt,Enderal/Propanolol.

I started studying alternative and complementary medicine, besides reading up on Doctors and nursing texts. The Merck manual says after cessation, the steroid trtments cause myopathy, similar to some of those muscular dystrophy disorders.

People with arthritis disorders beware.Youre a lot better off ,sticking with the Ibuprophen,NSAIDs,instead of prescription steroids...

Having said that, theres a few things I found that counters some of those kind of effects like Vitamin B5 with a B complex 100,nourishes the adrenals to make more natural steroids and anti inflammatories.B5 comes in a 500 mg mega dose,Dr Atkins book says he s treated a lot of people like this with 500 to 1500 mg a day of B5,to drastically reduce their need for stuff like prednisone, etc,if not get rid of it all together.

DHEA was another,to be used by those over 35 yrs old, furnishes the adrenals with building blocks to overcome the need for prednisone type drugs. At 37,I found the proper dose for me was 5 mg ,once or twice a day.As you get older from there, you need more ,like 12 1/2 mg once or twice a day, at say age 55...Getting the right dose is important,if you take too much,it can cause arthritis symptoms ,when you weren t feeling too arthritic at the time...Our body only makes 1/2 as much by the time we get to age 35,from what it made in our prime 20s,and women take 1/2 the dose men take..It goes down to only 20% by the time we get to say 70s...

However, you have to give up stimulants when you use it,go on decaf,if not giving up caffeine.None of the other stimulants either,no prescription or black market stimulants either,as they multiply its effects, and can cause nasty brainstem headaches, relieved by ibuprofen, and a tapered off dose...
DHEA wont help you in speaking engagements,if thats the line of work you are in,take it after work, like salespeople, teachers, public speaking.Maybe try staying off caffeine for speaking, try like 250mg of l phenylalanine for help there,& cotton balls in ears...

Dr Atkins says maybe 40 million have been hit bad by the cortisone type trtmts,I think I read ,if not him, someone else I was reading, maybe Dr Julian Whittaker of Health and Healing newsletter...

More good news if this happened to you with arthrits/or joint injuries,is the Vitamin D3 will have some positive anabolic steroid relief for you at 1000 to 2000 Iu s a day of D3,with a one a day vitamin, the vitamin therapy is also inexpensive...

Damn...this sounds painful!

Damn...this sounds painful!

it was. i couldn't bend my knee without a rush of hot pain for over a week after and while it got better after that it did so slowly. it still burns if i try riding when it's cool out. hell, it just plain doesn't like cold, dry weather at all anymore. stupid joints.

i used to ride six miles in the winter (in michigan, mind you. it sucked, but fuck it. i didn't have a car) to go to work no problem. i can't even imagine trying to do that now.

Well, one guy mentioned the sex thing. So I will point out that Extenze is a patent/over the counter supplement being sold for sexual enhancement.

Its main ingredient is the DHEA,for which I feel its way high a dose at 50 mg.However,as mentioned in my above post ,you have to stay away from caffiene and all other stimulants while using it ,or get the brainstem headache when it wears off.
Here in the States,DHEA is a over the counter without a prescription item.It has a lot of side benefits to offer the aging population, incl life extension, anti viral, anti inflammatory, helps type 2 diabetes, gives endurance, anti cancer properties...

DHEA the most abundant hormone in our body that furnishes the building blocks to our adrenal glands to mfg all the steroids the adrenals make, and more abundantly as we age.

Once again, not for people under age 35.For a mor detailed reading on it ,type it in the search engine at www.lef.com the life extension foundation, its one of their top 5 things/supplements to use.
http://www.lef.org/protocols/metabolic_health/dhea_restoration_01.htm in this protocol, they mention KETO form of DHEA ,I didn t care for it.I feel you need to go minimum dose on it and see what your body tells you,are you comfortable with the dose?I would open a 25 mg cap and take a 1/4 of it...maybe once or twice a day at age 35 to 50...

I don t use it all the time, either. This past year,I ve been adding it into my vitamin cocktail when I have to run the push lawnmower...It will not hook you & make you dependent, like predinsone/cortisone type s will.

The gold standard for life extension has been growth hormone, which can turn ones biological clock back up to 10 yrs.

By prescription ,it can run up to 30 grand a year.It has potential nasty side effects like causing diabetes.

However, there are safer health food store items that cause more release of growth hormone,a world safer.Whey protein powder is at the top of the list as well as a couple amino acid supplements, like l glutamine powdered form.5000 mg dose a day, causes a release of 400 % more growth hormone in 90 min ,according to several college atheletic programs.

Arginine can cause a release of up to 800% more growth hormone and you have to take a 1000 mg of l lysine amino acid with it....The whey protein powder has them all in it,you make a smoothie out of it ,or add it to cooled down coffee or tea,add extra glutamine dose in with it,AFFORDABLY...

Ive put this kind of info in with my Health and Longlife resource pgs, coupled to my 4 leaf clovers for a charity fundraiser ,2/3 for the red cross, the rest to various/diverse other charitable institutions...the past 23 yrs now..The info is stategically vital in said pgs,as 20% of the US population is going into their retirement yrs,the Med establishment has their hands full,...

For quackery, see www.cucumbertube.com for recreational therapy with some lube,or the links to click at bottom of page there to bookmark and in turn bottom of pgs there have other links to check out...for a good time ,see www.tubegogo.com all you seniors...actually,this might not be quackery,either...but fun therapy.

Good morning and welcome to hell. I didn't mean to start a thread and disappear, just got too busy out in reality.

Thank you to all that have posted. Even you no-good-rotton-sob's that are either young or still in great condition. It is good to hear from others around this place that live with getting older. Makes me feel better to know we are all in this together. Or maybe that's the drugs talking...

Is your body supposed to creak when you get out of bed? I feel I need a can of oil like the Tin Man!

If your body is creaking, maybe the stuff I was mentioning for joints and mobility at www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-condition-specific-formulas-mobility-essentials-180-caps you might be taking and see if that helps...

Oh and some are in other countries ,so use search engine to find local health food stores vitamin retailers/nutritional supplements,to see whats available and looks like these things.Maybe the local doc might have to prescribe something like the DHEA...
