FAWC You, Two!

Great. Thanks a lot. :caning:

Last bit of erotic writing I'll be doing for tonight. :( I've suddenly lost the mood.

I think I'll go watch some Disney stuff.

Combine all three and you'll have people asking "E.L. Who?"

:p

Do you know that she's just been named the top novelist earner internationally of the year? (Something like $80 million)?

I can feel "someone" spinning in his sty. :D

Yours is the dummest post of the day. YOU get an opinion YOU don't get to arbitrarily make up definitions. Invest in an effing dictionary.

sar·casm

/ˈsärˌkazəm/

Noun

The use of irony to mock or convey contempt.

You really are circling around this FAWC thing trying to get attention and someone to want to argue with you, aren't you? Good luck with that. Not enough business on your "look at me" threads? :D

What you have failed to realise is we don't all get our definitions from the same dictionary,

Sarcasm

Sarcasm is "a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter gibe or taunt. In modern usage, the word "sarcasm" is commonly interpreted as involving irony, or employs ambivalence, but traditionally sarcasm was not necessarily irony.

I am not arguing with him just pointing out a flaw in his logic and his narrow field of definitions.
I know he likes me really ;)

Oh, you could argue with him if you like. He has a need for the attention.

The Webster's definition is almost spot on with yours, by the way.

All of which is irrelevant. The master of the exercise has said no one needs to be married to anyone else's definition of the terms (of course this then holds true for the reader too).

Yes, I really Like you. I don't smack people I don't like. I ignore them. But you are sooo wrong about sarcasm I wanna cry and never smile again it pains me too much.

I spotted DAMPPANTIES story as soon as I laid eyes on it. I wanted to one-bomb it to hell but gave it a 5. She's an evil piece of amphibian dog shit but she writes well.

Spilling the Seed was one of the first ones I read. (I started from the bottom just to be contrary to people who submitted stories starting with numbers and 'A's :p And I skipped the multi-pagers to come back to them later). In just a few paragraphs, it started screaming NaokoSmith to me, though I must admit that I haven't read any of her posted stories at all. However, this one is very much like her personality on the boards. I liked the fact that it had a bit of humor in it and some of the word choices were really unusual and... maybe 'intellectual' is the word? Plus, as I told her in a PM, it had 'arse'. :D I think that was my first positive id of all the stories.

It's one of my two favorites in the contest. :)

ETA: Will talk about sr's in a bit. So tell me about your reasoning then.

I used a very scientific method for matching sr to a story. I looked for one with the ellipsis written the right way. And I remembered he talked about the posting order of stories and something about numbers in the title.

Gah. No, you didn't. Based on your comments on this thread earlier, the only 5s you gave were the ones you commented on and mine isn't one of those. So, yeah, good luck on trying to appear smart.

Three dots with a space between the dots. Like this . . . not like this ...

I don't remember where that is in the CMS and I don't have mine next to me right now.

Naoko's tale stood out, too.

I looked at it, blinked my eyes a few times; its truly a modern art masterpiece. The second time in my life I had that experience.

Guilty on the ellipses. As noted before, though, my story was already in--and the number in the title was element driven--when we had the story-ordering discussion. (And Laurel didn't run the stories in alphabetical order on the New list--it was last one received at the top of the list.)

The spaces between pips in ellipses and the lack of same on either side of em dashes are rules I knowingly violate. I don't even know why I resist conforming to standards on those.

I even turned off the autocorrect features that would fix them when I type them the way I always do.

Just stubborn, I guess. The meaning is still clear and only the tiniest percentage of people on Lit will know the difference anyway :p

Because resisting can be fun?
