Nice!! Congratulations, MistressLynn. :)

And I was right about that one. :D :D :nana:

Post the list, post the list!

And neither is mine. I've got loads of fine wine--but for regular drinking I always come back to Yellowtail Shiraz.

There are no loads of fine wine at my house, that's for sure. We tend to find local wineries for special occasions, and drink el cheapo wine more often. The Yellowtail Shiraz is one we have once in a while. We also like the Funky Llama Shiraz (although I haven't liked any of the other FL varieties). I got that one because I though the label was funny.

I usually prefer Cabernet Sauvignon (or Cab Franc) and Chardonnay (and I like it with a strong oak taste).

Congratulations, MistressLynn!

Congrats! It was a great story!

(That's one I guessed right!)

I just have to say that I am amused everyone attributed the hockey story -- Be Awesome -- to me, despite the other elements involved. It was a good story though. Way to go, patientlee. :)

Oh, how that made me laugh! My Nude Day story was a figure skater and a hockey player, but I figured no one had read it, so I didn't worry about that blowing my cover. (Those are the only two sports I know, and I started halfway through the contest, so I didn't have time to research another sport!)

But seriously, PennLady, which NHL team does Brody play for? (I've only read the first installment of Rhythm and the Blue Line.) We can't be friends if it's the Flyers. I'm a Bruins fan. ;-)

Congratulations, MistressLynn!

:nana: Thank you! Congrats to everyone who completed the challenge.

(I debated up until the last minute whether to enter this story. Even though Lit has the non-erotic category, I wasn't confident the readers would accept it here.)

That was the reason I guessed it to be yours! And I was right. :nana:

And my final guesscore was 8/17 right (9 if I count the misattribution of my own story). :D That was decent enough for me to be happy about it.

I have been asked, along with MugsyB, to write other sports but truth is, hockey is the one I know best. Baseball might be next.

So... you did a version of "The Cutting Edge?" Did it feature DB Sweeney? (I kid! I kid!)

It is not the Flyers, but that's all I will say, because it is stated pretty early in the story, as I recall.

Two of my guesses that matched yours were the stories by Naoko and SR. What did you look for in the stories that made you choose those authors?

Got more right than I thought I would!

My Wild Guess List (not the correct answers, obviously)

F2: 7:48 PM Wednesday - alwayswantedto (I thought SR was too obvious!)
F2: A Chance At Passion - slyc_willie
F2: Absolute Pitch - PennLady
F2: An Extra Ticket - damppanties
F2: An Inquiry - MSTarot
F2: Arboreal Amour - slyc_willie
F2: Be Awesome - PennLady (Obviously I knew this one was wrong, but it was a popular choice!)
F2: Friday Night Blues - Saxon_Hart
F2: Karma - Lovecraft68
F2: My Old Babysitter - mariewriter (Last minute switch. Damn!)
F2: Plaza De Toros - sr71plt (See above.)
F2: Spilling The Seed - NaokoSmith
F2: Stranger In The Park - MistressLynn
F2: Sydney Surprise - xelliebabex
F2: The Golden Ring - MSTarot
F2: Virtuoso - TE999 (This one, Extra Ticket, Absolute Pitch, and Inquiry had me going in circles.)
F2: We Gotta Stop Mom! - TxTallTales

No, although I loved that movie. They don't skate together until the end. (And not well, maybe because they're naked.)

LOL Now there's an image.

Okay, I just looked over ch 1 of R&B -- the team is not explicitly stated for Brody but it should be obvious from other hints, like the landmarks named. If you don't get it after Ch 2, I'll tell you.

And I will try to read your Nude Day story when I have the time.

Who's ready to talk about mixing their ingredients? :)

Two of my guesses that matched yours were the stories by Naoko and SR. What did you look for in the stories that made you choose those authors?

Spilling the Seed was one of the first ones I read. (I started from the bottom just to be contrary to people who submitted stories starting with numbers and 'A's :p And I skipped the multi-pagers to come back to them later). In just a few paragraphs, it started screaming NaokoSmith to me, though I must admit that I haven't read any of her posted stories at all. However, this one is very much like her personality on the boards. I liked the fact that it had a bit of humor in it and some of the word choices were really unusual and... maybe 'intellectual' is the word? Plus, as I told her in a PM, it had 'arse'. :D I think that was my first positive id of all the stories.

It's one of my two favorites in the contest. :)

ETA: Will talk about sr's in a bit. So tell me about your reasoning then.

I went back and forth on which one was yours. Virtuoso, Absolute Pitch, and An Extra Ticket felt similar to your Nude Day story, which I really enjoyed.

Really? I thought Virtuoso was not quite my 'style,' that is, if I have one.

xelliebabex and TxTallTales guessed mine correctly though, which was really interesting. I want to know what tipped them off!

With other guessers, I was thought to have written Spilling the Seed, An Extra Ticket, A Chance at Passion and An Inquiry. I must admit that this was extremely flattering as I felt all those stories were better than mine.

Absolutely nothing more than a gut feeling. I made a list of the stories to put names behind and that's where my pencil went. No matter how many other stories I read, that one remained a certainty in my mind.

All but two -- okay, three counting my own story -- of the entries I totally guessed at. I think I got two of those right. I unfortunately have not read enough of most people here to get a sense of their style(s). Also, some stories I had not read (still haven't), so that added to the shot-in-the-dark strategy I used. :)
