FAWC You, Two!

Can I ask for a basket, too? Though I can't possibly imagine achieving a twofer, I truly enjoyed the first FAWC. (Still sporting my trophy PROUDLY!)

(as well you should ;) )

Let me log in to the other account . . . .

Is IS fun! A challenge like this is good for the (literally) old brain cells and saves us from writing the same stuff we always write.

That being said, I don't think EVERY FAWC challenge should be like this. :D

Ohh, I have a question. Roughly how many words per page is a Lit page?

About 3,750 words, give or take, is one page on Lit.

I'd dearly like to get to this, but am still slogging on a pen name book that isn't coming easily--and now I have to think about a summer contest story as well.

I get the feeling you always have too much going on. ;)

Well, a death in the family and having to batch it for a couple of weeks has certainly not helped the schedule I had planned. And this book draft is not cooperating.

Oh, I understand on all fronts. It would be a wonderful thing if real life was always amenable to our writing. Unfortunately, it always seems to confound us. I suppose that's part and parcel for writers.

We'd love to see your contribution to this challenge, but I'm sure we'll understand if it doesn't come through.

Oh, and I've just put Lovecraft68 on ignore again and aren't even peeking during breaks this time. It makes reading the forum soooo much nicer.

I think I have a place to start. Just needed to think outside the basket...

Meanwhile, I'm looking at my basket items and thinking, "Maybe I'll just be direct as crap with this." Still of two minds about that. On the main hand, I think readers review stories as stories first. However, on the lesser hand, listing the four basket items upfront will prompt readers to look for them.

Which leads me towards two more hands. Do I beat readers over the head with the basket items while providing the best story I can or do I attempt dazzling the reader by inferring the items without being overly direct?

Still flipping coins...

Alright. This one's a blast. I was suffering minor writer's block, then this little contest blew it wide open. Finished two other stories in the last three days, and may finally have complete the Two Moms, Two Laps series.

Hope everyone else if having a good time!

Well this story has been a first for me. I still have to finish something else (my OCD will not allow me to leave a story unfinished.)

But the bunny is eating at me and I in work today I....

Started an outline to keep it fresh in my mind:eek:

I've had a couple of PMs regarding this, so, just to reiterate because it's probably gotten lost in the shuffle, make sure you PM me for the email address to which to send your submissions once they're done, if you don't already have it.

;)

If i have until the 16th of august to submit then i will give it a go, send me a basket, please :)

The deadline for submissions is August 2nd and the 16th of August is when the winner will be announced. Still, do it!

That might be a bit too tight for me but i would still like to look at the basket in case it triggers something good.

Started yesterday afternoon before the wide dragged me to the Bon Jovi concert (she has seen him 25 times:rolleyes:)

I have pretty much all day today so hope to get a lot done.
