OK, anybody know what happened to it? I assume it had a crash, but that was a while ago. It's kind of working, but I can't get in. It doesn't recognize my login any more either, or allow me to create another. Of course, I don't want to create another. I'm DVS, the one and only!

I have had same issue.

I presumed it was me putting wrong password in etc (heck I am blonde).

Wonder if facebook had an issue with it, although did think they must have ties (pun intended) as they were so similar.

I'm on so many job search web sites that I have many, many passwords to keep track of. I actually have a text file that's 40k in size with all of my logins, passwords, security questions, etc. and so I know what my login and password is. Oh, I'm blond, too. Well, I was, before it started to leave me.

It just didn't exist at all for a while, like it had been hacked or the server crashed. Now it's back up, but the screen you see is the one you would see if you didn't have a login. Then, if you log in, it says there are too many members connected which tells me they might be trying to fix something. You see that happen from time to time on any web site. But, who knows what's really going on? You just wonder about things.

I wonder if it is connected to Facebook, but I guess it could be. I'm on a web site for musicians called Fandalism, which was created and is maintained by one of the coders for Facebook. It has a physical connection with Facebook and you can even use your Facebook login and avatar to login.

Now, I'm not saying BDSMfriendBook isn't connected like that or created by one of the coders of Facebook, but it could be. When you see how similar it is to Facebook you wonder about things like that. And when you think about it, I don't think Facebook would want to be physically connected to a porn site as it is to a musical site. Facebook wants all people to become members. To be connected to a BDSM based porn site would damage it's "clean and wholesome" reputation. We BDSMers are sometimes considered a lower class in society. Of course we know differently, but that's another story.

I did, too. I'd guess everybody with an account there got one. From their explanation, they had a major database issue. I've already been there. Everything in my account was saved. It's as if it never went away. It's always nice to have more than one place to hang out.

I was in just such a group a couple years ago. Some of the folks in the Authors Hangout formed a FB group and I joined. As I recall, though, it became impossible to keep my activities and presence in that group separate from my keep-in-touch-with-the-family activities elsewhere on FB. I chose to get out of the Lit group because I started getting questions I didn't want to have to answer. I treasure my anonymity here, perhaps to an extent that others do not need.

Yeah, everybody was wondering the same thing because it does look so much like FB. Actually, I was wondering if FB finally caught up with them and shut them down. I guess it is possible they could be loosely connected with FB, but you just never know.

As for its membership, there are some from Lit that are members there. Here is a thread started a while back. It's probably not as popular as Fetlife, but it hasn't been around very long. Personally, I just look at it as another place to check out people related to the lifestyle. That, and I get to keep my DVS login secure.

I put up a profile there as well, and have a couple of friend requests. But since I don't recognize the user names, I'm reluctant to just say yes. I know that some people (Shy Slave clearly being one) who use different names there, so perhaps I do know one or the other but just don't know it?

I'm horrible. I tried it for a few days and got bored of it because there wasn't enough going on to keep my attention. And all the interesting people are already on here. I didn't get the email you mentioned. But I did intend to go back to it and see what's happening one of these days when I have more time. I'm not even on _here_ as much as I used to be. Stupid Facebook. Although it HAS allowed me to get back in contact with some old friends. Which I sincerely appreciate.

Yes I am on there under the name 'Silaster' it didn't like shy slave and I have used Silaster in the past on another site.

BDSMFriendbook is back up and running. I had almost given up on it as it kept telling my email address did not exist.

Still making my mind up about the site, I never use fetlife, have not done for years. I hated continually joining groups just to speak to people, so maybe BDSMFB will suit me a little better.

Feel free to add me, if you choose to join it. I am fairly quiet on there, although fairly quiet on here now as well, but still happy to talk to people
