Women, how do you protect yourselves?

Alright, here's what bothers me about this and I feel it needs to be addressed because there are people in the world that feel like this.

I said exactly the same thing as you? Did you just not read what I posted??

I never said dressing sexy or slutty or w/e validates harassment/rape/assault...in fact expressly said otherwise.

What I said is if you do dress sexy/slutty or w/e in public crying foul when Mr. Busted Janitor hits on you and it being totally ok when Mr.Studly Doctor hits on you......is fucking bullshit.

Sorry man, I just woke up. But yeah, you have a total right to ask. Just accept rejection.

Women usually only complain about being hit on when the wrong guy does it. Most just won't admit it.

No worries bro...just didn't want you thinking I was some pro rapist douche b/c I'm not. I just don't think skinless cry babies should have special privilege.

LOL....there is a pretty popular stand up bit that makes fun of that. About how Denzel Washington couldn't harass a woman if he tried, and Joe the janitor get slapped with a suit every time he looks up. I want to say it was either chris rock or Bernie Mac, it's fucking hysterical.

You know, I just realized that I have no idea what it feels like to be rejected by someone that you cared about- but then I was like, neither do those douchebags. They just saw you in the club. It's not like they had anything on the line. People are just fucking weird. To into themselves.

I agree with the rest of it but this is absurd....women spend thousands putting them on grand display at every chance for exactly that reason.

I have seen thousands and thousands of women in mundane places of all sorts dressed like
And there is no fucking way you will ever convince me dressing with ones assets on display as such is unintentional or innocent.

That's like me running around with half a chub hanging out going "WTF are you looking at? Quit harassing me!!!"

I'm not saying dressing provocatively validates rape at all, but to get all butt hurt over the stares, comments or even being hit on or whistled at when you throw it out there on grand display is fucking retarded. Guys universally LOVE tits....you don't want anyone staring at them or complementing you on them then put them away it's really that simple.

Are you fucking kidding me? You are not entitled to sexually harass a woman because of a low cut shirt. Her body doesn't belong to you, so you don't get to treat her like property.

The way a woman dresses is none of your business. It's hot outside, and I'll be damned if I walk around sweating my ass off just because YOU can't control your abusive mouth.

She could be walking around BUTT ASS NAKED and you still have to treat her like a human being because that's what mature, respectable adults do.

If you act like a dog, be prepared for people to be offended at your behavior.

WHY THE FUCK DO WOMEN DO THAT!?

Just as an aside- chicks do this ALL THE FUCKING TIME to me! Like, every time I go to a club or some shit this happens at least once. Some bitch I don't know will grab me by the dick. Men don't do that. Men don't even do that in gay bars! That is not an acceptable handshake. I don't know who you are.

I mean, I'm not like really mad about it or anything, I just don't understand it. Are you like, checking for size or something? Is it like, 'Yup, this one is acceptable. Hi, you get to know my name now! Buy me a $12 drink."

I don't know, why do men grab women while they're standing on the bus? I can't tell you how many times I've been groped while on public transportation or out dancing.

So you saying that "Men don't do that" is absolute bullshit. Men grope just as much as women, just because they don't grope YOU doesn't mean it magically doesn't happen.

I never said that. I said that it was not socially acceptable. In fact, I related a story where I got kicked off the bus for punching a guy that groped me. And then I had to drive my car and didn't have a parking tag and it got towed. I'm consistently groped by both men and women. I just don't bitch about it because, honestly, I feel like there are more important things to bitch about. And if they don't stop when I tell them too, I punch them in the face and get kicked off the bus. And they don't refund your pass money either. And I had a month long pass. It was a shitty situation that made me more pissed because everyone was like, "No, I know that guy, he's strait." And, "You're that guy who gets in fights all the time. You were looking for a fight."

Like I said, there's a difference between "nice ass" and one grope that might have been an accident and every day for a couple weeks of me being like, "Dude. Chill the fuck out or Ima punch you in your face." If someone tells you for a week that they're gonna punch you in the face and you don't change your behavior, and then you get punched in the face, I kind of feel like that's your fault. But I also think it's my fault I got pissed off. I could have done a lot of shit differently. I could have reported him or some shit. But I resorted to violence so I had to take the consequence.

But like I said, comparing an individual groping me on the bus with a society like Sudan's where people are ritualistically raped and it's not looked down upon makes me feel bad about myself. I feel like I'm belittling the people who have to live through that, in an area like that.

Okay one, the first part of my quote wasn't directed to you, it was directed towards BotonyBoy. Unless you have him nuclear ignored there's really no excuse for you assuming I was speaking to you when I very obviously quoted him.

Two, women are not socialized to threaten people with physical harm when they're in danger. Often women freeze up or ignore it and hope it goes away, so in theory physically threatening someone is a great idea, but many women will never learn how to do this because of childhood conditioning. So in that respect, it's up to men to stop sexually harassing people, not up to women to halt it.

Three, there is a slight difference between "nice ass" and a grope. They're both sexual harassment though. And honestly, no one should do either.

But like I said, comparing an individual groping me on the bus with a society like Sudan's where people are ritualistically raped and it's not looked down upon makes me feel bad about myself. I feel like I'm belittling the people who have to live through that, in an area like that.

And I don't really understand why you said this, since I never once mentioned the Sudan. However, to minimize a woman's offense when she's groped or sexually harassed -because she's lucky enough to not live in the Sudan and get ritualistically raped- is patently ridiculous.

People are absolutely entitled to be offended and horrified when offensive, horrific things happen to them. Regardless of where they live or what they have to deal with, when a person is treated like an object, they're being treated like an object. To imply that we should be happy that that's the "least bad thing that could happen" is absolutely ridiculous.

That attitude that you have? THAT is rape culture my friend. If you want to get rid of rape culture, you need to start with you.

Many females who have to rely on public transportation at odd hours of the day or night have no choice but to put themselves in harms way. It takes a combination of women being prepared to protect themselves, police protection and the manning up of men in society to protect women from predators.

"Women spend thousands putting them on grand display"
"throw it out there on grand display"

What does that even mean, bb? She's dressed in fucking pyjamas!

"Put them away"? Women universally LOVE tits too. And it's rude to stare. Just because you may think a woman is ok with your behaviour, doesn't mean she is.

What the fuck do they teach you there in America?

Maybe we should all start binding our chests! Just to be on the safe side. I wouldn't want my asymmetrical, slightly saggy boobs to cause some asshole to lose control even when I'm just wearing a plain old t-shirt.

Hahaha! I fucking  you.

Seriously? She was responding to an American. You're reading something into her comment that isn't there.

Yes, well, I'm American too. I'm also against sexual harassment. So obviously not all Americans are being "taught" that sexual harassment is okay.

I'm surprised you guys are surprised that I'm pointing this out. When you generalize and tar a group of people with the same brush, don't be surprised when someone points out the fallacy of it. :D

She's been smoking dope in another thread. She'll be ok in a few hours.

Yeah, because everyone who espouses the proven medical benefits of cannabis are pot smokers.

really? i read 'what are they teaching men in the states?' i have no idea how you jumped to the implication of sexual harassment only being in the US. it's all good though.

You're right. It's all good. :)
