I wish the scoring system could be changed to delete using 1's or 2's. A one bomb is almost impossible to make up. Scores of 3, 4 and 5 might be a much better scoring system.

I don't see what difference that will make. Any system will still have a bottom score and a top score.

The reason 1-bombs seem to make the score go down a lot is simply that you must already have a high score. In other words, the extreme votes have the most effect the further away from the current vote they are. However it works the other way too. If you have a 1 score now, then a 5* will raise you up more than a 1* will keep you there.

Good evening. The interplanetary goat tells me that there are 92 stories in the competition to date, with an average score of 4.22 from an average of 292 votes. Stories had an average of 25,140 views, an average of 10 favorites, and an average of 9 comments. The average ratio of votes to views is 1.23%. The average number of pages is 3.1, with the longest story being 24 pages.

So far there have been a total of 26,072 votes, 2,312,921 views, 931 favorites and 903 comments.

The standard deviation of scores (from the average of 4.22) is 0.49 and the standard deviation of votes (from the average of 292) is 352. The median score is 4.34, the median number of votes is 171 and the median number of pages is 3. The top 25% of scores are 4.62 or above and the bottom 25% of scores are 4.00 or below.

Sweeps

Some votes have been reduced (swept) since the start of the competition. A total of 4 stories have had their votes adjusted, with 3 sweeps resulting in a new score that day which is higher than before and 1 sweep resulting in a new score that day which is lower. Been a while since I've posted anything or entered any contests. The number of votes lost back then in the sweeps could be brutal. In the hundreds. Now it looks like there were only a dozen votes lost in the sweeps.

I know Darkniciad used to track these things, and it looks like sun_sea_sky is now. Have we just not had any big sweeps yet? Or have things changed. Just curious.

Some pretty good stories out there this time. I'm looking forward to reading more of them. Good luck to all.

They seem to be saving the sweeps for the end these days. The Month End sweeps might be up Tomorrow since it fell on a holiday weekend this month. Have to wait and see.

It takes about three or four days to post a story - much longer if it is an audible or illustrated one. Copying and pasting into the text box is the way to do it. You can check your index page and see if it is still listed as pending. If it is, DO NOT click on it because that will move your story to the end of the queue.

I don't believe there is a chat function. I know I have never used it.

The category is Incest/Taboo and a legal guardian would be considered taboo, if the younger person is living with him or her. I assume yu are referring to Nude Day next year.

I may be tempting fate, but my first (unwilling) entry into Loving Wives hasn't been so bad. Only, like, two really dumb comments, although one was kind of passive-aggressive ("I am sure that swinging and fucking around is a wonderful thing for those that enjoy it."). The score has gone up .10 in the last week, so it seems the first two or three days were when all the LW Trolls hit, and after that it's been real readers. That one might make a good jump after sweeps hit... I doubt I'll return to LW, but considering I was shoved into the deep end, it wasn't so bad...

I almost went cheap and put in a second one. I didn't start it as a summer contest entry, but the girl references that school starts in a month and there is a conversation between three girls about the main character joining their sorority in September, I also reference the father working nights because of the heat so a little tweaking could make it in theme, but screw it.
