Mmmmm. We're gonna have to help you find a tinder box and some flint! :D ;)

Not sure who ran that retirement seminar and what their perspective was. Planning is best started early. Ummm, are you planning to welt people with your walking stick in the distant future?? :caning: :D Would like to see that! Fiesty! And Jackasses always pile by the roadside. They get swept up eventually.

You do not partake of the many joys public transport can bring??? Tsk!

You have a goodie , too. Was down there in Feb. Loved walking around St Kilda with great company. Boy, has it CHANGED!!!!! Great to see that the best of those great patisseries are still there, although I refrained from sampling the wares. :rose:

Hey Trisk,

Well the flint I have, although that tinder box may need some lube :D

I'm going straight for one of those motorized carts and going to bypass the walking stick. Can park those things anywhere. I'll be like the guy in Little Britian, when nobody is watching I'll sprint to the front of the line for ice cream.

Two words for St. Kilda cake shops...Rum Bubba! Ok two more.... Mango Cheesecake.

Yep that area has become really touristy. You can't move during the Summer. At least in the Winter there aren't that many people eating out on the street and you can find a table. At times you have to walk down there in single file.

As for the PT, well I have lots of memories from using the system for many many years as a way to get around. Used to know timetables and connections points. Can still get around fairly well without a map or gps.

Waving the flag for Aussie team at the Olympics.

Although not so impressed with a certain British sprinter who blamed the Aussies for his loss...what was that again they said in the opening ceremony about competing in the Olympic spirit?

Aussie gold in the pool as our first gold. Didn't know the girls who swamp the heats also get a gold medal, nice idea considering it was a team effort.

Morning all :D

not a really great start to the day here - put my back out at work so now I'm in bed trying to rest it

Have a great day folks

Hey Webbo! Bummer! There are better ways to put your back out, mate. :D

Hope it's sorted soon. :rose: I use the lecky blanket to heat it up a bit. ;)

Aaarrrgghh..... getting older SUX :(
Things that used to work well, slowly begin to take longer and longer to recover from silly little injuries that never bothered us before.

Rest up and recover

Missing posts from WQ!!!

Hope your ok, hon. :rose::rose:

Yeah, I'm fine. Been a busy few weeks here - lambs dying left right and centre, and my daughter is about to have her baby (in the next few days).
I've been around, but I haven't been posting as much in this thread. I'm on the gb a bit though!

How's yourself?

Sameold, y'know. Sick of coughs and wheezes, but the flu shot seems to have worked well. Will do it again, for sure. :)

Sorry to see your lambs haven't done too well. Is it the weather? :(

Not the weather - it's actually been pretty mild so far for winter.
They've got a heavy load of worm, and orf has gone through the entire flock. They've been drwnched and vaccinated, but they're 'failing to thrive'.

We have a new addition to the zoo..... picked up a green lorikeet that had been buffeted by a truck and had his air sacks collapsed. He was sitting in the middle of the road, but he's here safe now in the parrot cage. It'll be a week or so before he can fly again I think.
Might keep him as he's already taking food from my fingers :)

Whoa! That orf likes people, too! Take care of you near infected beasties! :rose: Keeping stock can be heartbreaking. Hope they come right soon.

Hope your lorikeet pulls through, They have loads of character. Noisy buggers, too. :D

OMG, how fucking COLD was it this morning?
Had to get up at 0330 to take the man to the airport and the temp was minus 7!
There was a one inch layer of ice on the car... when I lifted the sheet off the windscreen, I snapped it in half!!! (Putting a sheet on the glass usually stops the window frosting up overnight.)

Aaaaannnnndd..... My daughter is in labour. Two weeks early, but all good so far.
It's going to be a long night, her contractions have been 5 mins apart all day.
I was with her this morning, but had to come home and catch some sleep as I only got 3 hrs last night!
Heading back down to her in the next hour.

Congratulations WQ!

Let us know if its a boy or a girl (or if we already know, let me know since I'm out of the loop XD)!

I am officially a Nonna!
My daughter delivered a 9pound 2 ounce baby girl this morning at 6am. It has been a long night for all of us!
And during the delivery, she was pushing so hard she wrenched my bad arm and my elbow 'popped'. (Back to the doc for me.)
It's all good though - mum and bub are doing well.
:D

That's great news WQ - pass on my congrats to the new mum too please - now you get to spoil her as only a Nonna can

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Great that Mum and Bub are doing well. Hope your arm is ok. Have you stopped grinning, yet????? :D :rose::rose:

Uhuh!

Sick of the frost and ice! I put a doubled flannellete baby sheet over the drivers side, but 2 nights ago it shifted, somehow. So was driving for a while trying to line up with the clear spot toward the middle. Thank god there's no-one on the road at 5am!

Thanx webbo and trisk :rose:

To be perfectly honest, I hadn't slept for 48 hours, so the grinning soon gave way to snoring!
I'm still somewhat sleep-deprived, so my happiness is tempered by my bumbling, stumbling exhaustion. I only let myself sleep 4 hours today, so I get a full night tonight (otherwise I'd be up at 2am  )

Sleep well; wake happy, WQ. :rose::rose:

Congratulations WQ; hope mother and child thrive

Something good and happy at last on this doom and gloom thread

Congratulations Nonna Queen !

So glad bubs & mum are doing well but that shoulder how bad is it hurting this time?

Congrats Nonna WQ :rose::kiss: Make the most of her while she's little because they grow so bloody fast! My grandson is almost mobile at nearly 8 months old - my son posted a video of him on Facebook he's gotten so big too.

Agree with Trisk I have had orf (infected thumb, needed lancing and a course of antibiotics) it is NOT nice. Bloody pet lambs and their scabby little mouths! There is a vaccine available for the sheep, it's a skin scratch thing but be careful not to scratch yourself with it or you will get orf that way as well
