Nah, it was local. No one outside the theater was injured.

No....it wasnt

The actions of a MADMAN can never be a NATIONAL TRAGEDY

What is a NATIONAL TRAGEDY is what is going on on Chicago

and

Detroit

Those that NATIONAL IMPLICATIONS

Hopefully no one would argue that this was a tragedy. What makes it a National tragedy is the fact that the laws allow a regular citizen to buy an assault rifle with the killing power far beyond anyone out side of the military or maybe the police should have. Let the crap start to fly now from all the bleeding heart gun rights persons. Why on earth should it be possible for someone to buy ammunition on line in the quantities that the killer was able to do? Can we now have a civil debate on the necessity for gun control.

It's not a tragedy. A tragedy is when a tornado hits a small town. This is a monstrous attacks perpetrated by an evil man.

It helps the economy.

Only when we have a civil debate on car control.

Only when we have a civil debate on car control.

Except we had those. You need a state issued license to purchase a vehicle. All vehicles are registered with the state and you have to inform the state if you purchase or sell one. If you have too many infractions or simply fail to pay tickets your right to drive a car can be revoked. If we suspect your driving drunk the police can pull you over. If you want to drive a motorcycle or large truck you need a special license with a higher level of clearance. We have car control in this country.

You remember what Timothy McVeigh did with a little fertilizer?
Perhaps that should be outlawed....

Did you know more kids die in swimming pools than are shot?
why don't we get rid of all pools.

Crazy is crazy and you can not legislate against it.

Tom, the kind of control you're attempting simply is... it's not possible. If there is one thing the history of evolution has taught us it's that crazy will not be contained. Crazy breaks free, it expands to new territories and crashes through barriers, painfully, maybe even dangerously, but, uh... well, there it is

VatAss is right, Tom. One can't possibly implement control over something whose sole use is to inflict deadly harm on human flesh.

After all, gun owners also use their guns to hammer in nails and we can't go controlling the sale of hammers now too, can we.

Go McVeigh. You can accomplish great things with the tools available. (Though we've since put up barriers to make what he did difficult if not impossible)

So what if more kids die in swimming pools? Stupid statistic.

There is more than just crazy going on here.

why is it

when ONE crazy guy

uses GUNS

we scream

LETS BAN ALL GUNS

and

when MUSLIMS try to attack us

YOU all scream

ITS ONLY ONE:confused:

You sound half way intelligent when you type in sarcasm...You should try it more often.

So far everyone has bought into this moron's opinion that an 'assault' weapon was used. The only 'assault' weapon used so far in relation to this crime is the assault on intelligence perpetrated by the MSM and the usual group of lackeys.

Why not? It is racist and discriminatory to call for ID in order to exercise a human right (keeping and bearing arms). Poor people and elderly people do not always have access to proper ID and forcing them to show ID in order to get ammunition could put their lives at risk.

can we have an honest DISCUSSION about LAZY ASS PEOPLE?

Laziness Is 11 Times More Dangerous than Guns

A little perspective on the gun-control debate: According to U.N. data, the number of homicides committed with firearms in the United States runs typically between 9,000 and 10,000 a year, with the numbers going:

2009: 9,146
2008: 9,484
2007: 10,129
2006: 10,225
2005: 10,158
2004: 9,385
2003: 9,659
2002: 9,369
2001: 8,890
1999: 8,259*
1998: 9,257

According to the Journal of American Medicine, the number of deaths caused by U.S. cardiac patients’ not bothering to refill their heart-disease prescriptions is about 113,000 per year. (The cost of filling prescriptions is of course a factor, but not the only factor. More from Ezra Klein’s Wonkblog here.) In one category of disease, skipping meds causes about eleven times as many deaths in this country each year as all firearms murders combined. One of these things is treated by liberals as a national emergency, the other is not. This is a curious thing for people proclaiming themselves to be empirical, evidence-driven rationalists.

My own suspicion is that the gun-control debate is almost entirely cultural and aesthetic — there is little or no evidence that gun control prevents crime or saves lives. Some people simply react with disgust and horror at the sight of a gun — or, more precisely, at the sight of the sort of American they imagine to be inclined to own, use, and enjoy guns, i.e. old-fashioned tornado-bait such as yours truly. These are the same kind of people who abhor home-schoolers and imagine that right-wing radicals are the major threat to public safety in this country.

Gun control is not about guns; it’s about control.

Coming from someone for whom intelligence is a foreign concept, I thank you for your compliment.

ohh...Solid come back. I see what you did there. You just reversed it on me. Nice!!! ( maybe you should wait till Sonny is around....you are not very funny by yourself)

Fact is the person who wants to shoot someone or several someones in this instance, gives a fuck about gun laws. They will find a way to get a weapon. I can go buy an fully automatic rifle tomorrow. Outlawing all guns will not stop that. It is an old argument but if you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have them.

It is kind of like the Kobe Jordan argument. Jordan has six rings...you can throw out any stat you want but I only have to point out Jordan's six rings.

It is the only argument I need!

I bet you are a Kobe kid as well

I know a carpenter that did that, he misses his little finger too.
