Enough about SSM. Should pot be legalized?

I don't hold out much hope, frankly. If a decrim referendum can't pass in California of all states, where can it pass? :(

But let's discuss it anyway.

Fuck yeah. And prop 19 went down 53-45 and we know that there was a MASSIVE turn out of blacks who are socaially conservative. Its entirely possible that had Hillary beaten Obama in the primaries we'd be smoking weed legally in CA. Besides something that comes that close you just keep throwing it at the wall until the other side gets bored of fighting you on it.

Remember to vote in the poll! (No really, I had a talk with the Jerry Brown's office, a vote on the Lit can overrule anything. It's in the state constitution. Mind you, I had to get 'em pretty wrecked to put it in there . . .)

The downside, of course, is that it might make the American obesity epidemic even worse.

Wait. . .I wanna change my vote to no in light of this new development. You got baked with Moonbeam and you didn't summon me?!

I've got a fix for that. It'll need a mandate, an exercise bike and a generator.

What? Why are you looking at me like that. We get renewable energy, people get in shape, they'll be too high to realize their helping the enviroment.

Or we could do the truly American thing and accept that we don't stop doing something cus its unhealthy and if we've learned anything from Michelle Obama the mere suggestion we take care of our bodies is the worst thing anybody can do. First they ask us to eat brocoli and next they put us in "work camps".

Blame the Democrats; they're against free enterprise. They don't want to legalize weed and lose all those government jobs created by it's illegality. Police, prosecutors, judges, court stenographers, court officers, parole officers, probation officers, corrections officers, correctional staff, public defenders.

I don't understand the connection between these issues. Why not say "Enough about trade policy with China. Should pot be legalized?" Randomly linking unrelated issues doesn't make sense.

The connection is that 1) they're both about "legalization" of something (though the word means something different in connection with SSM) and 2) SSM has been all over this forum and all the Intertubes for the past two weeks and done to death and 3) like I said, time for something fresh.

So far, it looks like I would have to post this on some other board to get any "No" votes . . .

Actually, blame the prison industrial complex. Private prisons lobby hard to keep drugs illegal, otherwise they'd go out of business.

The private prison lobby also had a hand in drafting Arizona's racist immigration law, which I believe was the work of Republicans.

Worst case of false cause ever.

The war on drugs is popular with both parties because it's the best way to show how tough they are on crime...

my post was intended to facetious, but you are correct in that corrections is being privatized and therefore those forces will lobby to keep weed illegal.
