Now, I've seen it be used a lot... probably have used it myself before.
But I can't help but be curious.

Do black people get put off by the abundance of being called chocolate?

All the...
"You're some tasty chocolate."
"I wanna bite of that chocolate."
"I'd lick your chocolate."

And other such phrases.
Or do y'all embrace it?

Now, I love chocolate; I'm a bit of a chocoholic.
So I do hold chocolate in a high reguard.
But this isn't exactly the same thing.

So is this something black people just have gotten used to and ignore, get bothered by, or have embraced it and love being referred to as some sexy dark chocolate?

I know personally, I'd find it offputting to be called vanilla (which is weird since the vanilla bean itself is almost pure black, lol).
And let's not even get into white chocolate (I just don't like white chocolate).

I am more mocha.

I think it's all context. If we are having sex and you say " you are a whore" I'm ok with it. If we are in a restaurant and you call me a whore your getting a drink in your face.

I hope that explains my view.

So basically in an environment like this, if you posted a pic and some person made one of those "chocolate" comments, you'd take it as a compliment, but if someoen just claled you chocolate out in public, it's bad.

Do I have that right?

Just err on the side of respect. Unless the woman your talking to has said it is ok, then do it. Never assume.

It's actually a compliment for me. I know that chocolate is delicious and most women love it. It's not something that I had to get used to even though I get it a lot. It helps boost my confidence level when a woman uses the name for me.

haha well it would only make sense to be called chocolate hense the name in my case BUT sometimes it can get a little boring when a man is constantly comparing me to a delicious peice of heaven lol i like a guy to get creative when he describes what he likes as far as skin goes but i guess to answer your question its not necessarily off putting but can get a bit predictable if used constantly :) otherwise i welcome my creamy complected callers lol

lol, Well with your screenname being chocolate_drop, I can imagine you'd get called chocolate more often than not.

You could be pale white and still get called chocolate sexually. :D

haha this is true but i dont hey sexual chocolate every two seconds haha there are other ways to describe a woman of color ;) but i do see your point
