Single-minded as in one Muslim group would sweep into power pretty much everywhere and vote as a unified group.

So far there is one Muslim congressman, Keith Ellison. And he's not going to vote for Sharia Law.

FYI, there are now two Muslim congressmen. André D. Carson (D-IN) was elected in 2008. Maybe since he took his grandmother's seat and she was Baptist, nobody noticed.

Nearly all religious books from the 'olden" days contain passages that contemporary civilized societies finds barbaric.

The question is: which groups of people still follow the barbaric passages, and which do not. Christian, by and large, have evolved. Muslim, for the most part, have not.

Really? Which person here gives Muslims or Christians a pass for doing something abhorrent?

Observation. News Media reports. U.N. World Health Organization. The list goes on. Fundamentalist Christians chant Down with Gays, Kill the Gays, etc (for example). Just words - not deeds. Fundamentalist Islamist not only chant words, but they perform the Deeds that match the words.

We'll always see protesters for all issues. That's not the issue. Oh how I pray that NOW would travel to Afghanistan, Iran, or some other Muslim nation in an attempt to further women's rights there.

Nice try. I can post the name of a crazy Muslim to counter your post. The question is: is Christianity today inherently violent? Is Islam today inherently violent?

According to the teachings in both religions, some might answer YES to both questions. But since Muslims are carryout out violent aggression against Muslims and non-Muslims based on their teachings, I'd say Islam is inherently violent.

Christianity as a whole? Obscenely violent. However here in the last few years they have been fairly well behaved. However a few decades of good behavior hardly negates the 1700 or so years of barbarism and persistence in ignorance.

That being said Christians don't bother me until they try and legislate their morality. When they want to micromanage what I do with my dick and or the rest of my body I have a problem.
