Fashionable to Bash Christians?

b. The Christian Blurt Thread

At the time of this OP, the Christian thread is at post #70, and the Islamic thread is at post #71. If you have not seen both, then please take a quick look. It's obvious to me based on these two threads that LITsters bash Christianity much more freely than they bash Islam.

I wonder why.

Saying more bad stuff doesn't have anything to do with comfort. It has to do with personal experience. While I'm sure I've met a Muslim before I've never had one speak to me about religion. I can't gas up my car without someone thrusting a flyer in my face about how Christ is the savior. I can't sit around at my house without Mormons and Seven-day Adventists knocking on my door because I should go to church. No Muslim has so much as left a flyer under my windsheild. Sure there are Muslims blowing shit up but 9/11 aside (and due to sheer luck I wasn't a part of the world when 9/11 happened and as a result I have a lot less emotional attachment to it than most folk) not much that muslims do effects me in anyway. Christians however are preventing gay marriage, stem cell research, sex education, vacinations against PPV. They want to teach Creationism and Inteligent Design as science not as fairytale bullshit that has no place in the classroom. They cry about Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas and not being allowed to have religious icons in court rooms and schools. Currently the Republican Primaries are a mess and we all know the REAL reason. They might claim that it's because Romney's a RINO, but he's a RINO cut from the same cloth as George Bush, George Bush jr, and John McCain. All three won without this bs and two became president.

It has nothing to do with being afraid of Muslims no matter how often you repeat it.

That was a lot of words, and you even threw in politics. Do yourself a favor: look at what Christians are against, and compare that to what Islamists are against. Muslims are way, way worse.

No, it has nothing to do about post counts. I listed the count as a frame of reference in case one thread took a major turn in a different direction, thus rendering my OP in this thread meaningless.

It has everything to do with the number of different LITsters, and the negativity of such posts.

Well said, Merc. However, group mentality overtakes individual mentality, and that's when the problems arise. Speaking of strictly the radical elements of both sides, which would you rather have...the drooling, wild-haired crazies on the corner holding signs proclaiming the world is ending and handing out pamphlets, or the ones that fly airplanes into buildings and want to kill anyone who doesn't believe what they do? I don't fear any peaceful man, no matter what church he attends, but I do fear those who want to kill me. It's basic self-preservation. Peaceful Muslims are no different to me than Protestants, Baptists, Jews, etc. But radical Muslims are another story. Fearing them is not "Muslim bashing".

Because the stupidities of Christianity affects their Western lives about a bazillion times more than the stupidities of Islam does. Take Congress. THere are 535 members. One is a Muslim. Almost all of the others are Christians. Whose belief in a sky-dude do you think has the greater chance at affecting legislation?

Because the stupidities of Christianity affects their Western lives about a bazillion times more than the stupidities of Islam does. Take Congress. THere are 535 members. One is a Muslim. Almost all of the others are Christians. Whose belief in a sky-dude do you think has the greater chance at affecting legislation?

With the Constitution in the mix, I'd say neither one is more likely than the other to affect legislation. One is more likely than the other to lead to car bombs and human bombs in the US, as well as the beheading of Infidels overseas. Can you guess which one I am referring to?
