Burn Treatment

Is "it's from the Sun" and "you have to read this" in the same breath a non sequitur?

On the (possibly remote) assumption that it really IS what it says, this is a very important step forward in burns treatment. I could see Pinderfields Hospital (the burns unit) being very happy with this.

Now all that kid needs is a haircut before someone thinks its a girl.

It really IS what it says. I saw this a while back, and it's simple, fairly inexpensive, and the result of some real genius-level research and development.

It is so incredibly exciting to see this technique spreading! :rose::rose:

All we got to do is persuade the NHS that it's cheaper in the long run. . . .

They are saying that the machine costs all of... £800 to buy???? And therefore is too expensive? ???

????
That's too expensive???
???

That can't possibly be right. I must have read it wrong.

800 quid to rescue a child's life? Cheap.
800 quid to rescue dozens, maybe hundreds of children's lives? Unbelievably cheap.

Not to mention retrieving the lives of firefighters, soldiers, old ladies, and drunken idiots who dance too close to bonfires but just might have redeeming qualities.

This technique will help people who have lost a lot of skin from dragging accidents as well.

I kinda don't understand how the treatment can cost 5,000 pounds, actually. Once the solution is sprayed on, these special bandages are never changed. Seems to me the most minimal of hospital attention, unlike current treatments that require months in hospital and daily bandage changes-- constant nursing.

Stamp the word "medical" on a piece of equipment and the Tests required to ensure it is safe for use is incredible. I reckon the total costs probably include the Medical staffs' fees, administration and all that junk. Adding the "Safety Committee's" (NICE) time is also (doubtless) expensive.

But it IS cheaper than the alternative treatment, for sure.

Does it work on someone older ???
