I am currently looking for something to use that will allow me to use items like paddles, whips, and other objects to give the same sensation of pleasure and pain but to reduce the chance of bruising and blemishes from the use of said items. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It depends on the sensitivity of the person being hit, as much as the implement. Suede/deerskin floggers are less likely to bruise (I believe); I think anything with a softer, "thuddy" feel would be less bruising, as well.

The person being hit would be able to prepare by avoiding aspirin, blood thinners, take homeopathic arnica tablets/use arnica cream to speed healing.

I don't suppose you could just hit softer if it's a concern? I mean, hit hard enough with anything and it'll bruise. Hell, I have bruises on my thigh from getting kicked by my roommate (in the context of a self defense course), and that was with the protection of a striking bag and my leg fat! And I don't bruise abnormally easy. She just kicks hard.

You can keep Arnica salve around for afters. Arnica contains a solvent that reduces blood cells and sends them back to the blood vessels.

But really, if you hit someone you will get bruising, and it seems silly to me to try to demand otherwise. Laws of nature and all that.

I am a fair skinned girl that bruises quite easily and welts bloom red with minimal effort.

I have learned there are things I can do before hand to help keep this from being excessive, although nothing short of not being touched at all will fully prevent it from occurring. Your sub should make sure she is well hydrated and her skin is not overly dry before hand. I use a good natural based moisture creme on a daily basis.

Before use of floggers, paddles and such she should avoid things that contribute to blood thinning, such as vitamin C in large doses, garlic in food or supplements, fish oil supplements, aspirin and to a lesser extent, other NSAIDs such as ibuprofen and naproxyn. She should also avoid caffeine as it constricts blood vessels and in some people this can cause more broken capillaries.

After care should include Arnica salve and ice packs. She should also avoid very hot showers or tubs and heating pads for a few days afterwards.

As I said though, even if I follow all of this, I will still have bruises. Sometimes from something as benign as a finger or thumb exerting a bit more pressure than expected...

What kinds of fun painful play might one do that doesn't use impact?

Electro-stim, maybe?

I have used Arnica in the past with pretty good results.

I honestly wish I was one of those that bruised or marked easily. I will be barely able to walk the next day, but there won't be a mark on me. The only times I have bruised up is when I play after a few drinks...something about the alcohol in my bloodstream...

Alcohol will inhibit clotting, so that makes sense.

I personally can take a lot of damage before being bruised. It just depends on your sub. Him using a belt on me leaves mostly red marks, if he hits hard enough he can break skin which is awesome

I use Lucas Paw Paw oitment, and I think u can only get it in Australia. It says its for

Lucas Paw Paw Ointment may be used as a local topical application on the following: abscesses and boils, bruises and burns, carbuncles and chafings, cuts and cysts, dry and cracked skin on hands and feet, gravel rash and heat rash, insect stings and mosquito bites, open wounds and pimples, scalds and sunburn, swelling associated with injury, splinters and thorns, tinea and whitlow, nappy rash and cracked nipples, temporary relief of the symptoms of dermatitis and eczema, temporary relief of the discomfort of haemorrhoids by local application. Hence I bring a large supply back whenever I go home.:) It is a miracle worker for so many things. Another good option for bruising is Hirudoid Cream..it also works on scars (old and new) and a variety of inflammatory problems.

If using canes, light and whippy will leave lovely stripes on the skin (light crops that are flexible for example). The more "thuddy" the toy, the more likely bruising will happen.
Think about where the blow lands - surface stinging strokes leave stripes and wealts, deeper tissue "thuddy" strokes leave bruises.

Then of course, there's the fine are of not leaving a single mark on the skin but ensuring your attention is felt for days as a secret memory on the skin!

If you like striking, but want to avoid bruising altogether, try Sadistic Reflexology, a form of foot torture.

If you use something other than your fingers and thumbs to press in, take care how hard you get and do "calibration runs". When using a short hard object, for example, a teaspoon, you are at a disadvantage because you have a harder time knowing how much pressure you are putting on that spot on the foot.

You can use canes and rods on the foot, but a very light stroke evokes a lot of pain.

In a typical 30 to 45 minute scene using only bare hands, you get to strike the foot 300 times.
