Ernesto Colnago. I'm glad you sucked as a racer, because as a framebuilder you are simply unsurpassed.
If my new bike were a car it would be an as-yet unreleased Ferrari.
And cost rather more than $9000.

I say this as a cyclist who has spent a lot of his lifetime earnings on bikes: no one on this board really needs a $9K bike.

He doesn't "need" it as such, but he wanted it and has worked hard to earn the money to get it.
There are needs and wants......
This kinder, gentler GB is nice, but in the old days three people would have (correctly) called me jealous by now.

Oh, I'm fucking jealous......but the roads here would trash the bike.....
I'm jealous of the miles he's put in that allow him to really appreciate the bike. I doubt I'd really be able to take advantage of her charms.

Ti, says the guy who rides Ti.$9K....sheesh. What's beyond full carbon?
I'm thinking of a decent commuter for summer
They're sweet frames. You probably also notice the switch from old carbon to new--plus the grupos, unless you swapped your old ones.I was about to lay into you, call out your palmares bona fides (mine were impressive 30 years ago). This post caught me up.
This is my second Colnago. The first was good for thousands of miles a year...some years more than I put on any car, for decades.
But this one? Took it on its first real ride last weekend and only realized I was in the big ring after 45 minutes of up and down New England terrain. In the winter. This is a stupid fast bike in a way that is inconceivable.
Thank you Ernesto.
Riding around here sucks. Too much traffic on the pavement. But there's some really nice dirt roads. I want to get a cheap MTB to play on.

I got tired of carbon. To smooth for me. I switched to Ti. Slanted top tube, very fast, more of that rat-a-tat under the hands that I like.
But still.
Congrats. Very sweet ride.
I've begun the search for a 29-er.
I'm nowhere near $9K, but I love my Specialized just the same. We celebrated our 7-month anniversary just last week.
Can't wait till it warms up a bit.
I've seen you mention that. I don't know what it is.
