Hmm...considering I never made it for the Christmas contest I think I'm doubly late for this one!

Time to rewrite everything with string bikinis and volleyballs and maybe I'll make it in time for the Summer contest!!

Ironically, I finally have another chapter of an ongoing story nearly ready to post, but if I put it up now it'll get lost amid the heart-shaped hot-tubs and pink champagne...

I went to the cardiologist today and had an echocardiogram done. Next up is the dreaded tilt-table test. The last one I had was when I was a teenager and I swore I'd never have one again. At least the doctor apologized for putting me through another one, but I understand the need for it. I passed out three times last week. Why not go for a fourth time? *grumbles* We have to figure out what's wrong with me!

I think the writing is going fine with everyone; I think it's the voting that's giving (most) everyone gas.

Just submitted mine "Home is where the Heart Is."

This should have been done a few days ago, but I struggled with it. Romance is not my thing.

I also kept debating between romance and mature right up until the end. I really thought romance because it is very story driven (5 pages before the nasty), but a couple of more experienced people here said mature because there is a 20 year age difference. Hopefully they don;t mind an actual story over there.

Also hoping this doesn't take more than a couple of days to get up there as I'm putting it in late as it is.

Taking more than a couple of days could actually work out well for you. That would put you into the sweeter part of the week ( in my experience ) for reads.

Beyond that, there's almost a week before anything is really "getting in late" There's a full week after the submission period ends for voting, and you'll easily get almost every vote you'd have gotten if you entered on day 1 within a week.

I put mine in Sci-Fi/Fantasy but have gotten a lot of emails and comments telling me I should have placed it in Romance. I'm still happy with the turn out on comments/reads/score and such. I believe you'll do fine in the Mature category. I've gotten a lot of nice responses with my few Mature ones.

I placed a different story in the Exhib./Voy. (non-V-day related) and was told it should have been in LW - even though my characters aren't married, because it feels like a LW story. Can't please everyone.

3 new stories brings us up to 42, and added one new category to the mix tonight as well.

Average score is now 4.24 with a median of 4.26

Average votes are now 252 with a median of 170 and a total of 9579

Average views 12,200 with a median of 8,652 and a total of 475,811

Average favs are 6 with a median of 4 and a total of 230

Average PCs are 10 with a median of 6 and a total of 382

Probably break the 10k vote barrier tomorrow. If I updted the views on the main list of stories ( only updating the ones that were New to the list yesterday ) we'd be over 500k views, Im sure.

Well I Think I screwed up. When I pasted the "Valentines entry message" into the notes box I am pretty sure I pasted the " marks as well and I don;t know if that screwed things up. They posted my winter entry the day after I sybmitted it, but this one isn't up yet.

Well however long it takes it should beat the 6 days my last story took to clear. Hopefully that just mans they are getting so many new stories they are backed up.

with all the "piracy" and Plagiarism threads going around I was fearing we would be losing people.

I did the oopsie " thing with one of the stories I entered. It still posted within the normal time frame (back then) for a contest.

My story posted in a day but I must have hit the timing just right. As for the plagiarism, I think that is only so apparent on here because of the vast content. On the websites I admin we run checks on the stories by googling a distinctive phrase, typically one with a name, to see if they are posted elsewhere before new members get their work approved. It's so easy for someone just to hit copy on your story and take off with it. Using that method yourself to look up your stories and find out where they are hiding online is just responsible. Not all websites run plagiarism checks.

Getting plenty of votes but the scores are hurting pretty bad. LOL My EC stories are taking a bigger hit than I expected. Must have shaken the wrong trees. Have one more to submit but will wait till later in the week. Haven't seen any swept votes yet, in this contest.

As far as categories go Most every story could have been in mulitple catgories. Best you can do is pick one and hope for the best. I even tell the readers that it could be in a number of categories but they must read over that part. LOL

I think in the winter contest they waited until the very end to do a sweep. That was pretty smart as it gave the trolls no chance to come back and hit us again.

and I noticed that there seemed to be more entries in the winter contest. Maybe a lot of people think V-day is too cliched or something. Personally I've looked forward to this one. Earth day and Nude day I really don't get, but V-Day seems like a "have to"
