..spend more on lobbyists then they pay in taxes.

http://www.dailyfinance.com/2011/12/13/30-major-u-s-companies-spent-more-on-lobbying-than-taxes/

"All of the companies were profitable at the time. In spite of this, and the massive federal budget deficit, 29 out of the 30 companies featured in the study managed through various legal tax-dodging measures to pay no federal income taxes at all from 2008 through 2010. The lone exception, FedEx (FDX), paid a three-year tax rate of 1%, nowhere near the 35% called for by the federal tax code."

In 2007 there was a bipartisan bill to raise the the private equity tax rate back to what it was in 1987. Shockingly enough, companies like Bain, shelled out huge amounts of money to lobbyists, and the bill never saw the light of day.

"If I could tell you about the number of lobbyists that have been hired to work this issue, you would know how risky it would be for me to predict anything about this bill" -Sen Chuck Grassley

So what, it's their money. With an anti-busness President and Democrat Party out to put them out of business, it's no doubt they have to spend big bucks in their own defense.

LMAO
Because clearly its a good idea that people with the most amount of money should have that sort of power over our government.

Anyone who complains that corporations have huge tax burdens is either supremely naive or willfully ignorant.

Small businesses have high taxes, large corporations pay less in taxes then I do.

Next up: Vettefag will use his "I can rationalize anything....ANYTHING!" talents to show us how Hitler wasn't really that bad, just misunderstood.

Also, he cybered a dude.

move to fucking Cuba and STFU

Yeah, but you know what's an even sweeter deal?

Government doesn't pay any any taxes...

...and pays ex-Congressmen/facade critics like Newt Gingrich $1.8 million to lobby for them.

Government doesn't pay any any taxes...
Wouldn't that just be redundant? Unnessesary moving of money from one Government account to another.

In fact I don't think government employees should pay income taxes (but have lower wages so that the bottom line is about the same). Should save a bit on buerocracy, no?

That would make perfect sense

Well, look around how much good has it done them? They have to leave the country to find a friendly business climate. I suspect you are ignorant when it comes to corporate taxes, we have some of the highest in the world imposed on our businesses.

Companies don't offshore their manufacturing operations because of corporate tax rates, they do it so they can pay children a dollar a day to work in death traps. Is that really what you want the US to look like?

Don't ask hard questions of him this early in the morning. His meds haven't kicked in yet.

I think Ive mentioned this before
Who the fuck cares what the corporate tax rate is??

It could be 60% or 70%, they are paying 0
you get that right?

that there is a difference between what the law says they should pay and what they ACTUALLY pay?

I just saw a documentary on China's manufacturing

I think anyone who knows how china works, will realize, those jobs aren't ever coming back to us.

They force their workers to live in dorms, 3 or 4 to a room, dock them housing and food pay, work them on 12 hour shifts and pay them an average of $3 a day.

Manufacturing isn't in our future as a country, and the sooner we let that go the sooner we can get on with what we are good at.

So it highlights how much bullshit your right wing claims are. US companies pay the highest taxes in the world? Turns out it's just another lie you bought into.

He gets it. Then like the rest of the chuckleheads here he turns around and chooses ignorance and decides to stop getting it.

It's the essence of willful ignorance. It's who they are. It's what they have to do to avoid laughing at their own right wing narrative that they so badly want to be true.

China is just a temporary solution

Big business is moving into automation, machines will work even cheaper than the
Chinese. The rich want to keep all the money they can, they took america's jobs to Mexico until they found that China was even cheaper, but now with automation they can do their work right here in the middle of high unemployment and not have to spend anything on labor.

clearly, reading about "business" is the only thin you know about business.

thank you for playing....

I don't know if you could be any more stupider:rolleyes:. You do realize that corporations are entities and that the government considers a corporation a living entity, right?

I assume not, cuz your welfare loving ass knows nothing about "business"

except you do know "where's my check"

Didnt you know?
corporations are people and deserve bailouts
but people are expendable and dont

And saving GM's ass was somehow anti-business in the remarkable rwcj doublethink around here.

so you support double standard in that we should save this company but not that one?

why did we then save lehman brothers or Circuit City? maybe we should only support and save those companies that donate heavily to the obama
