The lone exception, FedEx (FDX), paid a three-year tax rate of 1%, nowhere near the 35% called for by the federal tax code."
In 2007 there was a bipartisan bill to raise the the private equity tax rate back to what it was in 1987. Shockingly enough, companies like Bain, shelled out huge amounts of money to lobbyists, and the bill never saw the light of day.
