If you had a teleporter, where would you go first and why?

Think of the research you could do or the people for that matter.

So many choices and so little time. :D

Denmark for... uh... research would be my first choice.

I LOVE this!

If I had a teleporter, the first place I would visit would definitely be Texas!

In comparishion to Denmark Texas is x-large. The nature and climate is very
different from where I live. The animals are different as well.

I have heard that ducks in Texas says, "Quack...quack."
In Denmark the ducks say, "Rap...rap." :D

As for the research. Well - I would try to find a good looking Texan guy with a
black cowboy hat, dark blue Levis, and light brown boots.

Butt how would I know that he would be the one?

Let me tell you this: When I spottet a shiny light green motorbike in the distance
with a self-assured sex-oozing guy riding it, I would know.

Guess who that would be, Tx man.

:cattail:

Probably Bangkok. The Thai are very friendly and open-minded (and I think the floods have receded now).

Rather than Denmark, I think I'd head for the nearby Amsterdam.

Hmm. Greece is no fun right now, or I'd be heading there. I love Greece--but not when it's a financial wreck.

So, I suppose, instead, I'll start in Paris for breakfast (croissants anyone?)? Spend the day in London. Back to France for dinner (not exactly sure where; it'd depend on the specials ;)). End the day in Vienna sipping a mocha.

Where I'd spend the night would all depend on who I met up with in my travels

Thailand is good. I enjoyed Malaysia more but both are good.

Amsterdam is great in my memory anyway. I was there more years ago than I care to name but I had a blast there at 17.

Where would I go . . . ? I think I'd start with History, so
Sparta (Thermopylae), Egypt, Lebaatu'n (the City of fallen stones, in South America), Kenya, China,

At this point I run out of pages in the Passport . . .

As this would seem to be a teleporter rather than a time travel device, I take it that this would be an archeological tour? :cattail:

Oh very Yes!
Time travel would be an advantage, provided I could have a translator box.

Texas, the best country on earth...

Have to go with SweetMaj on this one, Texas all the way!

More specifically, 'Your Mom's' burger bar on the east side of Austin.

Let's just say I sometimes lay awake at night thinking about the 'Buffalo Bill' burger...

*sigh*

Munich, early 1924, the State Penitentiary, 3:00 a.m. with a silenced .22 pistol in my hand. One death vs. the Holocaust, anyone?

With no time travel feature? Barcelona, for starters.

With time travel? Barcelona, July 1936, for starters.

And then there are so, so many....

1914, Sarajevo. I'd assassinate Gavrilo Princip and nip World War 1, World War 2, the Great Depression, the USSR and world communism, and the Holcaust in the bud.

Probably not, James. That assassination was just a bit in the Balkan War. With the Austro-Hungarian Empire looking for an Adriatic outlet, there was bound to be a spill over.

It shoulda been what you suggest but Russia and Austria wouldnt leave it alone, and once Russia mobilized the fat was in the fire for all that followed.

Note: Austria already had Adriatic ports before the war.

Yes but they were trying to monpoloize the eastern Adriatic to the exclusion of Serbia...and, besides, you can never keep England out of the Continental goings-on...

The assassination precipitated the war NOT imperialism per se.

Most assuredly, now let's let the thread get back to where Tex wanted it.

I think next I'll head to Tenochitlan any time in the Tenth Century.

Or maybe Copenhagen. Tonight. In Maj's flat.

Memories of last years vacation on the Pacific coast of Mexico are wandering around in the back of my mind. Maybe a quick jump down for a few hours of sun and margaritas. I think that is self explanatory.

Yes. Enjoyed a circumnavigation of the Yucatan last January. Have the Caribbean planned for Spring Break, and the French Riviera at the end of the semester.
...still, Barcelona... (and maybe a side trip to Madrid for los museos and a "Kansas" Burger...)

Question: Are there pirates in those waters?

Nah, hijacking private yachts to use for drug smuggling is so '80's. Now the cartels build their own submarines.

The Bear has the right of it as far as I know. Anyway, my yacht would be far too small to be of any use, believe me.

My favorite area is between Mexico City and the mouth of the Gulf of California and the eastern side of the Gulf of California. There are a lot of out of the way places that the tourists haven't found yet.

The farther north you go the more likely you might have problems with the cartels but I've never had a problem even in some of the more remote villages and towns. Of course, i have friends there and they usually act as guides.

The diving is excellent as well as the scenery.
