Will Obama's precipitous retreat from Iraq result in civil war?

I like that, "precipitous retreat".

Maybe another surge and 8 more years of fighting someone else's civil war is the solution.

I'm not sure 'precipitous' is the proper choice of words as the withdraw has been scheduled for 5 years.

pre·cip·i·tous/priˈsipətəs/
Adjective:
Dangerously high or steep.
(of a change for the worse) Sudden and dramatic.
Synonyms:
steep - abrupt - sheer - bluff - headlong - precipitate

Belated... overdue... dilatory... lingering... stagnate... sluggish...

All better word choices.

Hush, Johnny, Vetty want to play "pin the blame on the niggar" (sic) this morning. It's his favorite game.

Iraq's been in civil war for five years already. Vetteman only just found out?

If Biden can just get them to pass the Clinton gun ban there, everything will be fine.

The idea of Obama getting us out of Bush's war in time for the election has been one of the nightmare scenarios for the GOP. Their other nightmare, the death of Osama bin Laden came true and they still haven't got the stains out of the sheets from that night.

The ghost of Richard Nixon lurks on the GB. He read the "precipitous retreat" line and hasn't stopped giggling yet.

This is exactly the type of naivete that got Obama elected in 2008.

The idea that The Fraud had anything to do with killing bin Laden is absurd, and Iraq will collapse before the election. Yep, that's going to make him look real good.

Toe the party line.

What's the GOP stance on how long to stay in Iraq?

When the Govt of that country tells us to get out...then you get out. But stupid people would rather prove to the entire Muslim World that our word means shit.

Vette stop being an ass. You wanted out of there as much as anyone. Feel free to hate Obama but keep it righteous.

Are you insane or just ill informed?

The time table was established by Bush. Obama, unsuccessfully, tried to extend the troop presence. While I agree with his reason for non-extension, I fault his diplomatic efforts.

You might answer my question instead of questioning my motives in posting this thread. It's a legitimate question, a large number of Pubs were against the timing, and many generals. He's poised to do the same thing in Afghanistan as well.

My answer is Fuck Iraq and Fuck Afghanistan. Well past time to come home instead of spending Americas money and lives on two countries not willing to stand up and protect themselves.

Bush's time table extended to 3 years past his presidency? Anybody can stick a pin in a calendar. You make it sound like he had some control over the situation.

Bush arranged an asset buyout of the incoming Obama administration. As a result, he owns 100% of the successes and 0% of the failures.

It's a matter of record, idiot.
