I think there are definitely ups and downs for every extreme. Looking back at my experiences....while I don't think in terms of "best" or "worst," I've had the most fulfilling relationships with average-sized guys.

Dated a guy who was literally as bigger around than my wrist. Even with me dripping wet, entering was a slow process and it took a minute for me to get comfortable. Anal was completely out of the question. That being said....he made me cum like a freight train.
