Free Food For All, So Some Aren't Stigmatized

You'd leave them hobbled with an irresponsible parent who didn't give a fuck about them?

Who are you even talking about? Are you actually saying that poor and working poor parents don't give a fuck about their kids?

So if a couple (regardless of age) have a child and one or both lose their job, or runs away from the child and other parent, or dies, the child should suffer?

I'm confident Vette's "broad shoulders and hard bark" is really nothing more than a limp dick and all bark.

I didn't know that we had a problem with starvation or even malnutrition in America. If we have a problem with starvation or malnutrition, we should certainly do something about it. Heck, with the deficit spending we have, they'll be the ones eventually paying for it anyway.

As far as the contention that someone made that results are better when kids get free breakfast and lunch, that sounds good. I'll bet every working person in the US would feel better about themselves and become more productive and have better long term results if each was given a new GM car every year too (I'll take a new corvette).

I'm a big believer in equal opportunity so I'd support a program to help disadvantaged kids. Given the state of the deficit, we ought to think long and hard about each proposed expenditure and determine if it's really needed or if it's the best use of money. Certainly, if we have a starvation or nutrition problem, lets deal with it. However, if the kids aren't having starvation or nutrition problems, shouldn't we be retiring debt or bringing our spending into line? To simply balance our nation's taxes with the spending levels we've expanded in the last 3 years would take an additional approximate $16,000 per family per year...do you want to add to that total?

Slippery slopin' again, pardner?

If you and your husband both willfully engage in some punishable activity and one dies, do you think that absolves the guilt of who is left standing?

I think men who fail to live up to their responsibilities to parent a child ought to be hunted down and made to pay. Period.

Having a child is punishable activity?

and as for the second part.. why is there ZERO mention of that in your opening post.. in fact, you went so far as to blame womn for having children in the first place

For those of you living in Bizarro world it all boils down to this: rewarding bad behavior will create more bad behavior.

So YOU are in favor of vettehitler's special work camps too?

Kind of odd for a Jew, one would think.

Yeah, it's time for straight talk, quit pussy footing around. We have to put some discipline into this most dysfunctional aspect of society.

LOL no it's not straight talk, just your usual hypocritical bullshit. You constantly rail about the government overstepping its role and constitutional limits... Now you're tuning around and saying:

1) It's the government's role to take custody of kids whose parents don't/can't make enough money,

2) It's the government's role to forcibly turn Americans into "indentured slaves".

Indentured slavery is okay. But a mandate to have health insurance or bank lending regulation? That crosses the line.

COASTAL BOY assumes that the study groups had identical lives except for the pre-school experience. In a valid experiment every variable is controlled and static except for one. Its how you determine if something creates an effect....ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL!

With longitudinal samples researchers generally use twins or fraternal twins when they cant control all the variables. One twin goes to pre-school, one doesnt. And you have a control group thats assigned to pre-school by random selection.

I say this: IF YOU WANNA PREDICT THE FUTURE FOR ANY KID LEARN WHAT TIME HIS MAMMY MAKES HIM COME INSIDE AT NIGHT. If he's inside, bathed, and fed before 7pm he usually does well. If he's out on the street after 7pm he wont do well. There's a cause-effect relationship tween failure/delinquency and how late a kids out on the street at night.

Preschool got shit to do with it.
