Nude Day 2011 Contest Support Thread

I'm probably only going to get to read 1 story a day, that seems to be all I've managed. The two I've read have been a little longer so that's the best I can do in a night.

Anyone else experience that 15-or-so vote sweep today?

My sweeps ar usually a little more than that do to the number of votes. I believe it was under 100 though. One story went up a few points, the other two didn't look like much of a change. We'll get another big one before Saturday AM.

MagicaPractica: I think I'm even more behind. I started reading yours, was loving it, had to stop half-way through to soothe a wee pixie back to sleep, and then started working on my Summer Lovin' story. Every time I start to read the entries, my muse gets impatient with me. I can't really complain about that though, if you know what I mean. Like now, I opened up a story and it's still sitting on my screen, abandoned momentarily for summer hot summer fun. *laughs* I'm off to finish reading yours now - maybe. ;)

Oh DG, so it depends on how many votes you have already?

It just stands to reason that a person with 800 votes would have more votes considered not legal compared to an author with say 60 votes. It's just the law of averages. Some of us have been known to lose hundreds of votes in a contest. The votes are both low and high ones. It's been mentioned many times that no one knows what make a vote legal or not.

At one time it was multiple votes from the same person but the site managers worked on it and I know I can only vote once. Some of the more computer wizzes say there are still ways to get around it but I don't know and really don't care to know.

I have three stories in the contest and I know I'll end up in the middle of the pack. One has over 900+ votes, another 800+ votes and the third has over 500+ votes.
I wish you the best in the contest. I would also like to thank MagicaPractica for leaving me a nice comment. I still love her eyes.:)
With respect
DG

I'm still steady in my vote average, only had three views in the past four days.

Lot some more votes today two stories in the 800's now, the third still in the 500+. Stories did go up a few tenths. That's aways nice. Comment have been pretty good also. Of course they have slowed way down.

Of course not all votes or comments are good ones. I do believe that it's something to get a reader to reply, even if it is negative.
:D
Best of luck to all the writers.

I knew I should have kept quiet. Hello Hoover. On the bright side, I'm a gnats hair from getting that coveted H. LOL

DG, I just realized how silly that statement was. Of course it depends on vote volume. Don't mind me, working on barely any sleep. Just to soothe myself, I listened to Samuel L. Jackson on youtube reading Adam Mansbach's, "Go The F**K To Sleep" children-style adult book. *hehe*

And thank you, good luck to you as well! :) Goodnight all.

Luna, the SIL bought the book. Apparently, they are having issues at home.

D_Lynn, I miscounted. You're right it was like 25 here. I'm sure they will become more frequent from here on out.

Luna,

I just recommended your contest entry, Lavender and Love, on another thread. A gentleman was looking for excellent 'women' stories for his wife. Thought your story qualified. :) Good read.

D_Lynn (Dakota), thank you so much for your support and for sharing the entry! I hope the gentleman and his wife are pleased. That was sweet of you. Thank you!

BABS: The past couple weeks I've been having the problem, too. Sooo bad but so damn true! The tongue-in-cheek humor cracks me up and any parent who says they can't relate at all, probably doesn't have a human child, or is just embarrassed and lyin'. ;) I cherish the snuggly moments and would never advocate swearing at your kids, of course. But when I'm flaring and exhausted and it's just not happening, this totally lightens the mood and gives me the boost I need to persevere. I'm not alone. :) You'll have to let me know if the book gives your SIL some of the same. How are you?

I think my vote total only went down by a grand total of 2-3 votes, but my score went up a few points, so those must have been "1" votes that were tossed. This time around I tried to concentrate on the "literary" as opposed to the "erotica," and what I have concluded from this experiment is that such an effort will get you the 4s, but not so much the 5s. So next time, it's back to serious smut.

A.I.R. NUDE DAY CONTEST 2011

On behalf of my boss and all of us associated with the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS I'd like to offer congrats to the OFFICIAL LITEROTICA winners (except for the cheaters).

I’d also like to post the NUDE DAY CONTEST winners as picked by the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS. These selections are not official LITEROTICA winners. Instead they were designed and financed with help from ScouriesWorld to reward stories that were the true #1 choices of our readers.

Not surprisingly in a contest that is decided by the votes of our readers, the A.I.R. winners list for the NUDE DAY contest is dominated by some of LITEROTICA’S all-time greats. We also have our first Canadian winner – congrats to the great northern stocking girl.

We at A.I.R. would also like to send out our prayers to the lovely sarahhh :rose:. Get well hon!

We also like to take a second and ask all of you to remember the brilliant BOSTONFICTIONWRITER :D who was murdered exactly two years ago today. Rest in Peace big guy.

The author ralphie, who continues to believe these special contests are SURVIVOR contests and so floods the contest with stories, was disqualified from consideration. However the readers of A.I.R. did (almost unanimously) agree that the five worst stories submitted to the site over the period of the contest were in fact penned by this moron.

Our pet dumb texan was (along with a few others) disqualified for cheating – trying to enter a chaptered story in direct violation of the rules.

Stories by other authors were disqualified for category problems, failure to follow the theme, or other major infractions.

All Non-Erotic stories were disqualified as well as the eleven stories identified by our association computers as ALT stories.

Congratulations to our winners – well done!

As most normal people know, I'm still alive and well and writing stories under SuperHeroRalph.

Let's all hope Scouries gets better soon.

Good luck to everyone in the Nude Day Contest and congratulations to those real contest winners who will be announced soon.

BABS: Haha! Good to hear. Staying hydrated and cool I hope. (That goes for everyone stuck in this heat wave)

Goodluck everyone! I wish I had gotten to read and comment on more stories than I did. Gonna see how many I can get read tonight. Well, there's always after the contest, right?

Well, the HOOVER finally hit my part of the alphabet. Lost a few votes including all of scouries little love presents. Got my "H" back at least. :D

No threat to win but it's fun to play the game.

LITEROTICA’S 2011 NUDE DAY CONTEST – a recap

I’ve been an observer of these THEMED contests for five or six years now and so feel more than qualified to comment on them. Was this one a good contest? Was the quality of the stories excellent? Just ok? Or below average? How much cheating was involved this time around?

Here are my observations:

1) It’s time to dump the NUDE DAY theme! It’s tired and has used up its useful life. Time to move on to something new. Let’s have a Memorial Day Weekend contest. Or a NASCAR contest. Or a July 4th Weekend contest. Or a Gay Parade contest. Or a … well fuck you get the idea. Something original. A change. A challenge. Do we really need the darkboys and dumb texans of our world pulling out the same story every year and after dusting it off resubmitting it?

2) Do something about the SURVIVALISTS! There were 86 stories entered in this years contest and more than half of them came from our survivalist friends. little ralphie of course led the pack that included the likes of boxy, betty, princess, baked and the dumb texan. By my calculation these authors, whose prime objective is quantity over quality, averaged 3.74 on their forty some stories. The readers have spoken!

3) This contest had the lowest quality of submissions of any contest I’ve observed in the last five years! Yes the theme has to take some of the blame for this. And little ralphie and the rest of his gang are responsible for a large amount of the problem too. But the problem goes even deeper than that. Besides the SURVIVALISTS we had another 9 or 10 authors who felt the reading public needed more than one of their works. They didn’t! We had 86 stories but less than 40 different authors when you take away the ALTS. And they’re the same old toadies who seem to show up every contest. Which brings me to my final observation…

4) Where the heck are the big boys (and girls)? Not even one out of the top forty authors on this site (according to our readers) entered a story in the contest. NOT ONE. And don’t think for a minute they weren’t submitting stories to the site during the contest time period. Over half of these brilliant authors did submit stories in July – its just that they chose not to enter them in the contest. They didn’t want to be associated with the little ralphies of our world or the cheating that, facilitated by the oggman and his self serving threads, is endemic to these contests.

It could be so much better!!!!

scouries, or should I say 'scrapies';

Your inability to find an erotic take on nudity simply reflects your lack of raising your septic nose above the fantasy erotic genre of your take on incest.

As to the suggestions you make, have a thought for the idea that this is a global site and not head down in the Florida pit.

If you can't be bothered to get off your fat ass to compete, it's hypocrital to attack writers a thousand times more gifted than yourself.

You should apologise - but won't!!

I knew there was a good reason for putting scouries on my very small ignore list.

He isn't even grateful for having a thread in which he can post his ranting.
