Sarah Palin - the gift that keeps on giving

Well, you have to give her credit, she JUST learned about this material last week, so she's not searching back in her memory for the story.

She's been cramming all sorts of facts in, and it's bound to happen that some of them get mixed up.

Dow Jones Plunges Into Longest Weekly Losing Streak Since 2004, Obama Blames “Europe, Earthquake And Gas Prices” For Economic Mess…

Barack Obama today blamed high gasoline prices, the Japanese earthquake and Europe’s financial crisis for economic ‘headwinds’ at home.

Obama’s address did not mention the bleak unemployment numbers announced Friday for the month of May. The Bureau of Labor Statistics said the economy last month created only a net 54,000 jobs and unemployment inched up to 9.1 percent.

‘We’re facing some tough headwinds,’ Obama said. ‘Lately, it’s high gas prices, the earthquake in Japan and unease about the European fiscal situation. ’

And, this ain't no lie, either:

Sarah Palin:
It’s Very Noble Of President Obama To Want To Stay At The Helm And Maybe Go Down With This Sinking Ship.

Last week, the Labor Department announced that the unemployment rate hit 9.1 percent in May, and just 54,000 jobs were created last month – far fewer than expected.

In response, Mr. Obama said the economy “is taking a while to mend” and faces “bumps on the road to recovery.”

On “Fox News Sunday,” Palin took issue with that analogy. “The people will tell you it’s not a bump in the road,” she said. “We’ve hit a brick wall.”

“It’s very noble of President Obama to want to stay at the helm and maybe go down with this sinking ship,” she continued. “But I prefer, many Americans prefer, that we start plugging the hole, that we start powering the bilge pump and start getting rid of this unsustainable debt that is sinking our ship. We don’t have to go the way of the Titanic, and there are things that have to be put in place right now before this ship does sink.”

Mulling over “what President Palin would do,” the former governor said she would cut the federal budget, cut corporate tax rates, expand domestic energy production and cut regulations “that really quash an entrepreneurial spirit in America and do burden our businesses.”

blah blah blah C&P C&P C&P

Get a new schtick. Or better yet, get your own opinion, rather than using someone else's words over and over and over.

You know how Sarah Palin said Paul Revere warned the British? Well, he did. Now, who looks stupid?

You may have heard recently something about that Sarah Palin telling a reporter that Paul Revere warned the British on his famous rousing revolutionary ride.

Now, that so many Americans have wallowed in their smug confirmation that Palin is an idiot unqualified for anything but repeating sixth-grade history, how far, wide and fast do you think the contradictory news will spread that the former governor of Alaska was indeed correct?

That the Republican non-candidate, in fact, knew more about the actual facts of Revere's midnight ride than all those idiots unknowingly revealing their own ignorance by laughing at her faux faux pas? How secretly embarrassing this must be, to be forced to face that you're dumber than the reputed dummy.

As it happens, though, such phenomena are regular occurrences in American politics, reminding consumers of news to be wary when some fresh story seems to fit contemporary assumptions so absolutely perfectly.

The well-known fable is Revere's late-night ride to warn fellow revolutionaries that....
...the British were coming. Less known, obviously, is the rest of the evening's events in which Revere was captured by said redcoats and did indeed defiantly warn them of the awakened militia awaiting their arrival ahead and of the American Revolution's inevitable victory.

Palin knew this. The on-scene reporters did not and ran off like Revere to alert the world to Palin's latest mis-speak, which wasn't.

Once again proves Liberals are nothing more than gullible dumb clucks that believe everything the media tell them. How sad.

They won't read the writing on the wall even when you stand them directly in front of it. They'll go down calling everyone a liar and an idiot, regardless of the truth being illustrated to them consistently within this thread.

The atmosphere was tense, word of General Gage's intentions spread through Boston prompting the patriots to set up a messaging system to alert the countryside of any advance of British troops. Paul Revere arranged for a signal to be sent by lantern from the steeple of North Church - one if by land, two if by sea. On the night of April 18, 1775 the lantern's alarm sent Revere, William Dawes and other riders on the road to spread the news. The messengers cried out the alarm, awakening every house, warning of the British column making its way towards Lexington. In the rider's wake there erupted the peeling of church bells, the beating of drums and the roar of gun shots - all announcing the danger and calling the local militias to action.

Sarah Palin knows American History...

Blind as a bat loonies.

"The Regulars had Revere remount his horse and they headed toward Lexington Green, when suddenly, they heard a gunshot! Revere told the British officer that the shot was a signal "to alarm the country!. A few minutes later, they were all startled to hear the heavy crash of an entire volley of musketry from the direction of Lexington's meeting house and then the Lexington town bell began clanging rapidly! Jonathan Loring, a Lexington resident captured earlier, turned to his captors and shouted "The bell's a' ringing! The town's alarmed, and you're all dead men!"
I guess I am blind as a bat because I sure don't see in that quote where it says Revere fired a shot or rang a bell. Or that even a part of the reason for his ride was to warn the British.

http://www.u-s-history.com/pages/h1261.html
"At about 10 p.m., Warren decided that warning had to be given to Sam Adams and John Hancock, who were wanted by British authorities and were likely candidates for the gallows. A young shoemaker, William Dawes, was sent by the land route through Roxbury, Brookline, and Cambridge.

As insurance against Dawes’ capture or detention, Revere took the water route out of Boston"

Exactly where does it say "Warren decided that warning had to be given to Sam Adams, John Hancock and the British"?

Yeah, right. The woman who is stumped for an answer when you ask her "What do you read?" knew this.

Give up, people.

Are you being purposely obtuse?

Nor did she say that it was Revere doing all of those things ... she was painting a vivid picture of the event with bells ringing warning and shots being fired throughout the town when Revere's lantern was lit.

Many historians, and even Revere's own account of the midnight ride, describe his warning (threatening) to the British.

Just go ahead and ignore all of the links substantiating Palin's short summary as correct. You prove how incredulous your thinking is.

Another link that makes no mention of part of the purpose of Revere's ride was to warn the British and makes no mention of Revere ringing bells and firing shots like Pain said.

I don't know of a single person who denies that Revere lied to the British who interrogated him, nor that bells were rung and shots fired by others.

Why do the Palin apologists keep linking to things that prove Palin was wrong?

Yeah, right. The woman who is stumped for an answer when you ask her "What do you read?" knew this.

Give up, people.

She was right bro. She's going to become king of the world. You'll see.

Fortunately you'll still be able to make fun of her because of the 1st Amendment.
So see it ain't all bad.

Are you being purposely obtuse?
No, I've read what she had to say on the matter:

"He who warned, uh, the British that they weren’t going to be taking away our arms uh by ringing those bells and making sure as he’s riding his horse through town to send(ing) those warning shots and bells that we were going to be secure and we were going to be free and we were going to be armed."
and
"Part of his ride was to warn the British that were already there."

So show me again where there's an account of Revere ringing bells or firing shots, or were there is a single narrative, aside from Palin or her apologists, that part of the purpose of his ride was to warn the British.

The most pathetic thing about this is you libtards are more concerned about Palin who is nothing more than a political celebrity meanwhile we have a dumb as a box of rocks President that's tearing our country apart at the seams.

But that's ok. Maaan, you people really have your head up your butts.

Twisting and turning words around doesn't prove a point.

Paul Revere, describing in his own words, that he warned the British that the Americans were ready - Revere said he was questioned by some officers, confirmed he was a messenger, said at what time he left Boston, that British troops had crossed the river and that "there would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, "for I had alarmed the Country all the way up."

(page 4)

and that "there would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the Country all the way up."

and, regarding the bells:

According to a history of the ride by David Hackett Fischer in his 1995 book "Paul Revere's Ride," after Revere awakened the community in Medford, just north of Boston, Revere rode to the house of Captain Isaac Hall, commander of Medford's minutemen, "who instantly triggered the town's alarm system. A townsman remembered that 'repeated gunshots, the beating of drums and the ringing of bells filled the air.'"

BUT HEY! don't let the FACTS stand in your way!

Of course it's a fallacy... she read 'all of 'em!

Katie Couric: When it comes to establishing your world view before you were tapped for VP, what newspapers did you read?

Palin: I've read most of them with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.

Katie Couric: But specifically, which ones have you read?

Palin: All of 'em, any of 'em.

Katie Couric:
Can you name a few

Palin: Alaska isn't a foreign country. It's a microcosm of America.

She was insulted by the question's implication, and answered accordingly.

That fact has been buried by ObamaMedia leading many to still believe the false implication Katie Couric introduced.

News outlets everywhere are still citing Katie Couric’s infamous question about Sarah Palin’s reading choices as a hard journalistic revelation. When Katie Couric asked Sarah Palin what newspapers she reads and Palin refused to answer, everyone jumped to the erroneous conclusion that Palin simply didn’t read to stay well informed.

The question itself implies negative judgment, and a real journalist wouldn’t ask it. I’m fully confident Palin dodged that question because she was offended, and not because she’s never heard of the New York Times.

Palin told Barbara Walters that she’s always been a voracious reader, contrary to the picture the media painted after the Couric interview. "I read anything and everything that I can get my hands on, as I have since I was a little girl," said Palin.

It's a huge mistake for the loonies to continue to try to paint this woman as unintelligent and misinformed. She makes most of the left look like vindictive, babbling idiots.

Jeez! You should really know it's time to give up when even the LA Times reports otherwise.

Like a number of famous faux gaffes in American politics, the facts of the situation no longer really matter.

The initial impression was eagerly grabbed by so many, starting with the reporter and millions of others gleefully sharing the story that reinforced their beliefs and/or desires.

As a political conservative, all I have to say about Sarah Palin

is

I would lick her from top to bottom and then fuck her all the way to Russia and back.

Not presidential material by a long, long shot, but one seriously hot MILF

Didn't Sarah Palin used to post on Literotica under the pseudonym of DOLLPARTS 8500?:D

Read your C&P a little more carefully here.

Nonsence. That preposterous bimbo was dodging a question any ninth grade civics student should have been able to answer.

Nobody contends that the purpose of Revere's ride was to warn Brits. The purpose was to warn Americans.

When captured, though, Revere stated he did warn the Brits of American mobilization.

In Palin's offhand reply to a casual question, she got a lot more of the story correct than the journalists and critics who rushed in to label her ignorant.

Seems she could have focused on the patriotic acts of Paul Revere rather than a treasonous one.

And there was not very much "correct" in her statement, such as it was. It was barely decent English.
