Well, you have to give her credit, she JUST learned about this material last week, so she's not searching back in her memory for the story.
She's been cramming all sorts of facts in, and it's bound to happen that some of them get mixed up.
What's wrong with briefing herself on local history prior to visiting?
You would prefer she make up shit like your guy?
blah blah blah C&P C&P C&P
I guess I am blind as a bat because I sure don't see in that quote where it says Revere fired a shot or rang a bell. Or that even a part of the reason for his ride was to warn the British.Blind as a bat loonies.
"The Regulars had Revere remount his horse and they headed toward Lexington Green, when suddenly, they heard a gunshot! Revere told the British officer that the shot was a signal "to alarm the country!. A few minutes later, they were all startled to hear the heavy crash of an entire volley of musketry from the direction of Lexington's meeting house and then the Lexington town bell began clanging rapidly! Jonathan Loring, a Lexington resident captured earlier, turned to his captors and shouted "The bell's a' ringing! The town's alarmed, and you're all dead men!"
Palin knew this. The on-scene reporters did not and ran off like Revere to alert the world to Palin's latest mis-speak, which wasn't.

Another link that makes no mention of part of the purpose of Revere's ride was to warn the British and makes no mention of Revere ringing bells and firing shots like Pain said.
Yeah, right. The woman who is stumped for an answer when you ask her "What do you read?" knew this.
Give up, people.

No, I've read what she had to say on the matter:Are you being purposely obtuse?
Of course it's a fallacy... she read 'all of 'em!
and, regarding the bells:
According to a history of the ride by David Hackett Fischer in his 1995 book "Paul Revere's Ride," after Revere awakened the community in Medford, just north of Boston, Revere rode to the house of Captain Isaac Hall, commander of Medford's minutemen, "who instantly triggered the town's alarm system. A townsman remembered that 'repeated gunshots, the beating of drums and the ringing of bells filled the air.'"
BUT HEY! don't let the FACTS stand in your way!
Who are you addressing? Certainly not me, since I didn't turn or twist her words. I provided two exact quotes from Palin.Twisting and turning words around doesn't prove a point.
Katie Couric: When it comes to establishing your world view before you were tapped for VP, what newspapers did you read?
Palin: I've read most of them with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.
Katie Couric: But specifically, which ones have you read?
Palin: All of 'em, any of 'em.
Katie Couric: Can you name a few
Palin: Alaska isn't a foreign country. It's a microcosm of America.
She was insulted by the question's implication, and answered accordingly.
Read your C&P a little more carefully here.
Seems she could have focused on the patriotic acts of Paul Revere rather than a treasonous one.Nobody contends that the purpose of Revere's ride was to warn Brits. The purpose was to warn Americans.
When captured, though, Revere stated he did warn the Brits of American mobilization.
In Palin's offhand reply to a casual question, she got a lot more of the story correct than the journalists and critics who rushed in to label her ignorant.
