I haven't quite worked out where you are yet, Miss Queen, but I will fess up to having grown up in Perth, where winter at least tries it on, but then moved to Queensland. I bitched all summer up there about the humidity, but at least the winters were gorgeous. Then when we moved to Canberra, it felt a lot like Perth again, just colder. Having said that, we're not really getting that much rain at the moment...

i'm in tassie :)
i spent a little over a year in darwin, and the humidity drove me insane. Had to keep a light burning in my wardrobe to keep my clothes from going mouldy!
I will never live in a humid place again
not much rain here either - this is the second driest state in oz, surprisingly!

Tes

Hmm, thanks for the invite but don't they have that horrible stuff called humidity in Florida? I was so glad to leave that behind in Qld!

butt we have whats called A/C and for the month I was in Melbourne I used mine there also !

Ah, well, if you promise to keep my inside with the aircon on all the time, with only occasional forays out for light and sunshine, then yes, I'd love to come visit.

Hmmm, what to do with all that time indoors? What are your scrabble skills like?;)

Good Lord, that would have done me in! My years in Qld never needed anything like that. I had friends who spent a few years in Darwin, and the wife loved it, but then she was from Townsville originally, so it was closer to what she was used to.

I'd love to get to Tassie sometime. Hubby went the year before we were married and he still raves about it and keeps promising that one day he'll take me there. We just haven't made it there yet.

Second driest state in Oz? Well, blow me down! I've always pictured Tassie as being a little like how I picture Scotland, wreathed in mists and vapours, unless positively raining. I mean, you've been known to have snow at Christmas time! Well, I guess you learn something knew everyday, as they say.

Well

I keep my A/C set pretty high so I would have turn in real low as the heat would build up fast , butt the games we would play would not be table games although we could change around !

Mz Moon, Your wonderfully twisted posts are missed here :( sadly it seems life is keeping you busy in the wild north.

Ah Mr Gil, us sinners.... I mean angels are always busy ;) There only so many days a girl can go without a good, long, hard, so so firm....................

But even that is lacking unfortunately...sighs. Enforced good behaviour at present. My woman/child, child/woman has a social and work life on top of the school life. So I have entered that next stage up of just having to hang around waiting for "her". I don't know where she gets it from  but she is strong minded, can be assertive and bossy at times, but no unreasonably so...now that is not the me bit right there....laughs.

I didn't realise how much some fast food places enslave their workers. There are kids who think that if they get caught being stupid..not dangerous but caught on camera crunching up a paper bag and throwing it at another colleague, they will not get their entitlements when they leave such as holiday pay, loading etc. Sheesh. My blood is curdling at the moment about some of the occurrences and mistreatments.

I am pivoting between allowing her to learn to handle and roll with the punches (figuratively speaking) and continue to monitor it or rip the fork out of head office on their lack of appropriate support, information and value of their staff, particularly the young staff. All for the princely sum of $8.48 phr (including laundry allowance).

But that is enough whinging. Goodness, a little Bicardi and I moan up a storm. Not the sort of moaning I prefer to do.

I hope all is well with you and Bandit. I am still catching up on some threads I've seemed to miss. If I sat with my glasses on, I might actually read more words on each page..:D:rolleyes: I see the cool has come to you southerners. I am sitting here now beside the oil heater with the sex goddess of outfits on once more...... Trackie daks of course..laughs, and let's not forget the fluffy slippers.

Keep warm to those who are in winter and cool to those whose weather is warmer.

:kiss:MsMoon:kiss:

Nope I am not limited to the northern hills when it comes to ice...Have ice will travel...No GPS required :D

Let it s l i d e baby s l i d e. *WEG*

Will I need to get the Sensodyne out for the ice between the front teeth chill ill-effects?

I've been down for a week wiyh aches and sniffles - but this morning I have woken with my throat on fire. Looks like I have the worst yet to come :(

At least it's raining. Water, yay!

Hey All,

Becominggoddess and I are both Brisbane-ites and are loving browsing the Lit forums. Goddess has her own picture thread - "Black and White" - that you are warmly welcomed to check out and comment on.

Any other Brisbane folk around?

Hi, my hubby and I are both in Brissie. Recently moved here from Sydney.

Somehow, I missed this post! Sorry, softey. So, there's nothing we'd get up to on a table?

I am so overwhelmingly bored right now.

lol

Finally got the kids into bed, I *think* hubby has stopped telling me things at the moment, and I've settled down with a nice cup of tea. I'm sure I'll be bored in about 10 mins but for the moment, I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet.

Woke up yesterday to a massive storm. 120km/hr winds, hail, power fluctuating all day.
Woke up this morning to dead calm, sunny, gorgeous day.
Tassie *shakes head*

Still very ill with this cold.
Today will be spent outside tho - have to clean up the debris from yesterday. I have tree branches down and the driveway needs to be checked.

Plus I had runaway daughter stay over the weekend to spend time with her brothers, so I have to take her back to town later.
