If this show hasn't jumped the shark by now, it will by next week. They're doing a musical number.

Was a fan. Now I'm done.

Scrubs did a musical number that is considered one of if not their best episode. It happens. Not often but it happens.
The Taming of the Shrew episode of Moonlighting is another example. Good stuff.
However I don't watch House so you could be right.

True, but it's an apples / oranges comparison. Scrubs was a comedy.

Comedy.

They're just doing this on House to tie into the popularity of Glee. And also to give Mia Michaels another gig, `cause she already works for FOX.

When they did that, there wasn't any pretension involved in it, though. That shit was sweetness. Can't get that honest quality sans the hipster factor these days. It's like Family Guy appropriating the Star Wars episodes.

Oh and I agree. As soon as the promo started I actually did a facepalm and thought well there goes this show. Bad enough House finally got Cuddy and now this.

Oh and the Buffy the Vampire Slayer musical episode was great. Yeah yeah yeah not the same genre but it wasn't strictly a comedy.

I actually consider that episode the worst one and I am a Scrub devotee. I must have watched all but the last to abortions about five times. My favourite is the squirrel army...but I have a thing about squirrels...

I was just going to mention the Buffy episode, however it was as bad as it was great and I think it was the jumping the shark moment for that show, I still religiously watched every episode afterward and own all seven seasons on dvd.... but from Passion to Once More With A Feeling..... sometimes it hurts.

Yes....

House rocks.

What's the gist of the series and why does it have such a rabid cult following? I wasn't really part of the alt-TV series revolution way back when it came out. Along with Lost, Weeds, Entourage, etc...

House is a misanthropic vicodin addicted doctor who is a snide jerk to everybody (though that has been softening this season a bit) and loves fucking with people using his superior intelligence to expose and exploit their flaws, foibles and ethics.

The medical angle of the show is pretty much formulaic in that someone comes in with a "simple" symptom that as the show progresses snowballs into even more symptoms each segment that deepens the mystery until the last segment when someone says something offhandedly which allows House to have an epiphany that connects all the symptoms which allows him to solve the case.

When they add John Stamos to the cast, then its officially over...

Remember when you used the same av from house on your roryn and mechablade account plus used it for both profiles. Wow you really fucked up there. That alt was shot... hey bro!!!

Now it's done.

If the writers turning House in an unredeemable character (attempted murder of multiple people in this season's finale) wouldn't have done it in, Lisa Edelstein leaving unexpectedly - which has thrown the writers for a major loop - certainly did. Start the funeral march...

Hugh Laurie has already said season 9 would be his last with the show, so it's certainly finished.

According to producers, that's not a lock.

I'm thinking it's a given now, though.

I guess they could change the name to Foreman MD, or Chase MD.... or maybe 'The Diagnosticians!'

...and cue the music. Announced today: House is done.
