Interesting biblical discovery

intersting that these codices have already had parts translated and released to the press. all the bits released relate to how the bible is correct.
and then there's the dead sea scrolls, known about and worked on for over half a century - most of which (about 80%) have not been released after translation because what is written apparently does not match the bible.
papal cover-up anyone?

How do either of them say the Bible is "correct?"
And the Dead Sea Scrolls are the Bible. About half of them anyway. The rest are essentially supplements to the Bible. Also, all of the scrolls are available online for anyone.
I think you are confused.

Oh, this is awesome. I went to listen to a brilliant archaeologist last summer who specialised in biblical type stuff. He was absolutely mind blowingly brilliant. I have always been fascinated by ancient discoveries, it's exciting.

I'm not sure what you mean by "not matching the Bible." There were all sorts of gospels out there in the first few centuries post-Jesus. The church eventually settled on four of them as canonical, but I don't think, at least in our era, there's been any attempt to suppress their very existence. Take the "Gospel of Thomas," much of which sounds more Zen than Christian:

These discoveries are all quite interesting, but in the end, one either has faith or they don't.

there's a very interesting read about the dead sea scrolls -
The Dead Sea Scrolls Deception by Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh.

as at 1997, there were still major obstructions in place with regard to publication of translations of a great proportion of the scrolls. not even other scholars could get access to them.
i'd be very surprised if all the scrolls were now translated and published publicly, given the lengths that certain scholars have gone to for so long to prevent it.

I read a book once about how the government is covering up aliens. It's probably about as accurate.

have you read it?

I don't need to. There is no coverup. All the scrolls are available for anyone to see. You can do it yourself.
They aren't anything mysterious, they're the Bible and supporting texts.
If you want to pretend there's some massive coverup then go ahead but not only is it bullshit but it doesn't even make sense. They're the Hebrew Bible. Why would the Pope give a shit? And even if the Catholic church did give a shit, how could they possibly cover it up? They don't own them.

right.
because the church has such an excellent track record on transparency.

You understand that Israel has the scrolls, right?
The Catholic church has nothing to do with it. The scrolls only have a very tenuous link to Christianity as it is.
Instead of believing one book that flies in the face of everything else ever written or the fact that it's all out there for everyone to see, maybe you should read everything else ever written about it and see the things that are out there for you to see.
