Interesting biblical discovery

Very interesting. I love it when stuff like this surfaces. Thanks for the link.

Ditto. I cannot recall this sort of material appearing as metal plates. looks like a modern book.

Second thought. The oridinal 'Book of Mormon' was supposed to be inscribed on gold plates, I believe.

The Greeks, Romans and Arabs all share that tradition. It wasn't a very common practice given the value of the metal used at that time and the degree of difficulty involved in crafting them.

was there just one, or 4 ...the pictures show a bunch of different binders

You're thinking of this one. Oddly enough, spiral binding pre-dated three-ring binding by about 1,500 years.

Meanwhile, the "Clutch binding" shown in this picture never really took off for the obvious reason that it was too difficult to get inside the "book."

I just read….and I can’t remember where but it seems that an entire case of plastic Jesus statues were found in China dated 3 AD.

Go figure.

One of the few sentences translated thus far from the texts, according to the BBC, reads, "I shall walk uprightly"--a phrase that also appears in Revelation. "While it could be simply a sentiment common in Judaism," BBC writer Robert Pigott notes, "it could here be designed to refer to the resurrection."

It's a good thing the phrase didn't translate as "I shall walk with my knuckles on the ground."

Otherwise we might have this guy Robert Piggot telling us that the phrase is designed to refer to creation scientists!

intersting that these codices have already had parts translated and released to the press. all the bits released relate to how the bible is correct.
and then there's the dead sea scrolls, known about and worked on for over half a century - most of which (about 80%) have not been released after translation because what is written apparently does not match the bible.
papal cover-up anyone?
