Liz Taylor Gone

May angels guide her to her rest, and may she be at peace. Liz was a true icon. :(

The end of an era. She gave me a lot of pleasure watching her movies, while staring at her.

May you rest in peace. God bless you. I'll keep you in my prayers.

She's with the Michaels, now, her beloved husband, Michael Todd and friend, Michael Jackson.

She's one of my favorites. Although I have to admit, she'd probably be chagrined to know that the one Liz Taylor movie I own is Cleopatra. I enjoyed others though, especially Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Good night Elizabeth ...

... and farewell.

You were far too beautiful to be so talented and wise.

I remember her acting with Richard Burton and his reading of this:

DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT Dylan Thomas

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Elizabeth Taylor raged against the advancing years and remained a powerful woman to the end.

Time to watch Whose Afraid of Virgina Woolf? again I think. A totally engaging bit of acting.

I sweat real sweat and I shake real shakes.

~Elizabeth Taylor

What a woman, indeed.

A real movie star. I don't think any contemporary female "stars" can succeed her.
