Because it's Pi Day! Happy 3.14 to geeks and nerds everywhere. And happy 4s to all the squares (you know who you are).

Until we hit the once-in-a-century Double Pi Day--3/14/15. Ben, great poem, it's a blooming gem!
%#@*&$&##
As if we don't have enough irrational numbers around here already!!
You mean the number just keeps going on...like, forever? You're kidding me, right? And mathematicians get paid to come up with stuff?![]()
With all this Pi flying around could this thread be considered a food fight?![]()
"A Japanese businessman using a home-built computer has taken calculations of the mathematical concept of pi to the trillions of digits and won a world record for his labours."
All those trillions of digits piling up! Trillions of them! No wonder the plates under Japan shifted.
And watch out, Stephen; there's more and more digits where those came from, and some fool is bound to go out collecting them. If you ask me, though, I'd say it's just a vicious circle. A real vicious circle. You get yourself stuck in it, going 'round and 'round in a never-ending 'round-up of digits. I think we should just leave well enough alone and either round it off or fraction it.
The horror!!
Hey, wait a minute...here's what we do!!
We let those digits just a keep on a comin'. No!! Not that kind of comin'!!
And we burn them...to generate electricity...an endless supply of digits. Limitless energy!! Now is that an irrational idea or what?
You would think there'd be no argument over numbers, but yes, even in mathematics there are politics. And so, to complete the circle, check out this Pi doubter who, I think, makes a very convincing argument for doing away with Pi!
Well...okay...I watched it and, yes, it makes sense, I think...maybe...
But I'll be damned if I'm going to eat pumpkin tau!!
peut-etre, Stephen, mais en Quebec...Le TAUtiere???
peut-etre, Stephen, mais en Quebec...Le TAUtiere???
Swoon! They're speaking French! (Okay, Canadian French, but still...)Ahh oui, le TAUrtiere. Bien sûr, dans le reste du Canada, il s'appelle "viande tarte".
