Are we too PC ?

Often it feels that many of the conversations even here in the BDSM Board try to be too politically and socially correct. It's almost like people want to make up a set of rules so that we all fit tidily in a little BDSM box. For me a big part of my joy in the BDSM community is its ability to contain so many flavours and revel in them.I like being outside the box don't you?

I hate to answer a question with a question but it's all i have.

I heard a term several months back and the way in which it was asked, made me wonder if it was BDSM. I thought about asking but I was to busy trying to convince myself that i was wrong. hmmm i think its time to stop and learn. I could be wrong about being wrong?

I actually seen someone mention this game in another thread but was referring to the board game. I can't help but wonder if its been heard in the darker corners of this lifestyle. would discussing a sadistic "mind fuck" game be socially incorrect?

On second thought. It might not be sadistic. Maybe it's just a good "mind fuck". That would depend on the players and i need to remember that.

I would advise keeping the subject to yourself in front of young children or your grandparents, possibly. Avoid it around your business partners-- or your boss. And the people at the next table at the cafe, they might not want to hear the details of a sadistic mind fuck, and you would be exceedingly rude to inflict it on them.

Does that answer the question?

Yes, it did answer the question I asked, and If I wasn’t such a coward I would have been clear. On the other hand trying to hide it in someone else’s thread is a bitch move so rather than go where I was going let me rephrase the question.

In the BDSM community, are there subjects that are considered taboo even in a BDSM forum?

Hypothetically: Let’s say a Sadist likes to indulge in a game of “taboo” not the term I was going for but trying to keep it to the thread subject. Now, in reality, he likes to go to all the bdsm fun rooms or whatever they are called and “taboo” is known throughout his circle. Then someone in his circle ask someone else if they have ever played “taboo” but that person only thinks they know what it means, would it be socially incorrect for that person to come to this forum and ask everyone if they have heard about “taboo”.

The best way to find out would be to try it. :)

What can anyone do to you besides say they don't like the question, perhaps in all caps? It's the internet, and this is a minimally moderated forum.

I am STILL trying to figure out what OP meant by "PC" in a BDSM context, anyway. We've talked about race play. We've talked about rape play. We've talked about raping lesbians and we've talked about raping het men. We have one guy who talks about slicing his penis open, for crissakes. We have women who REALLY BELIEVE that a woman's place is flat on the floor-- and women who REALLY DISAGREE with that.

Ask your question.

You do have an interesting way of saying things. :D

I'm weighing my options. I should ask in a seperate thread but I'd prefer to stay out of google.
