This is for someone who has been a rock for me over the last few months. I can't imagine life w/o this person, so many people told me I should just cut this person out of my life, and I'm glad I didn't listen to any of them. I can't help but think of the portion of a poem that says "...make new friends, but keep the old, the new are silver, the old are gold..."

This person while not a member of Lit is my Tikvah...

So many nights,
Unable to sleep
I stared at the ceiling
And started to weep

Alone and so lost
I struggled to cope
You came along
Giving me hope

Shining so brightly
Just like a star

The year passed so quickly
Our friendship has grown

How could it be

Separated by distance
Yet joined by the heart.

It’s hard for me to think
That we may never meet
Then I suppose I don’t deserve
Someone who’s so sweet.
