It does not matter at all what Palin had on her site. If it were an arrow, her detractors would point that she was pointing out where to attack. If it were a dot, they would say the same.

The entire Palin holds some responsibility for this tragedy and should recognise and admit her culpability theme, is simply one more machination to reduce her to political impotence and to demonise the Tea Party movement prior to the 2012 election cycle.

Right now, every Liberal group which has ever used, "Target" in one of their ads, is rushing to change and edit their phraseology to something politically correct, lest some nutcase copycat the Tuscon disaster.

So you started the thread to discuss the issue or try and spin it? So I posted to you. I thought the fact that the nutjob also had an issue with ad hominem attacks was "intriguing." :D

Personally I think both left and right extremes have gone batshitcrazy over the topic.

She's been irresponsible and ridiculous in her characterization of public figures and legislative intentions. No, I don't think she deserves this, but she's handling it like a kitten trying to pretend it didn't shit on the tile.

I don't think she should be the subject at all, but of course she made it worse by not fessing up to her rhetoric and symbology and acknowledging for even a moment that it might not have helped. It DOES matter...NOW...that a gun sight is now a surveyor's symbol when someone calls her on her overstatement and there being a relation to consequences.

Same way that "death panel" mattered. If she'd just called it what it was, legislation that she doesn't agree with for these reasons...instead of attaching something ridiculously overblown, she might be a responsible public figure.

I've said both parties are equally guilty of over-ratcheting the dialogue. But she is pretending she didn't. In my eyes, just another Palin moron move.

No, I don't think she's being attacked fairly in this instance. And the witch hunt makes me sick. Not JUST because there are witches everywhere, on both sides, and only one of them is being called out on it.

But since you dislike Palin (so obviously) her part in it, even though in truth zero, is worth many posts and she should feel and admit guilt for the entire incident even though you (and nearly every thinking person) knows is not her guilt. She had a political ad and her political opponents are using it for their own ends, but she should bow down and humbly say, "yes I wanted Gifford Dead?"

Palin, just like everyone else "targets" political seats. Bad rhetoric possibly - but not ONE person ever thought (including the shooter in this case) that she meant for people to go kill politicians. But no worries, we'll soon have legislation against using the word Target or symbols with an "X" or crosshair or any picture approximating firearms or firearm sights in anything other than shooting sports brochures. We'll be safe then from the english language.

You are letting your personal dislike for her stand in the way of your normally decent judgement.
