Does anyone know where to find actual BDSM graphic novels/comics? I am looking for hard copies to purchase and not ones just published online....would a normal comic book store carry anything like this, or would I have to order online? Thanks in advance for any advice:)

I had a boyfriend in high school that had some pretty extreme japense/anime style graphic novels....guess always wondered where he found that kinda stuff.

Depends what you are looking for. The story of O would probably be one of the best known ones (but there are many others), and should be available through a bookstore, but also able to order online.

Micheal Manning does spectacular fetish/BDSm graphic novels. His webiste is http://www.thespidergarden.net/

Guido Crepax did the Story Of O and several others. Personally, I don't think he's spectacular-- but the images are plenty hardcore.

If you like M/M images, look for the Doushinji artist Tori Maia. YOu can get a glimpse of her work here;

click on the covers for a selection of pages... Whew hot!

I've never seen any graphic novels in that genre, but it would definitely be of interest. ;)

Try large indie news stands [the ones that sell foreign news papers and mags] in larger cities. There are a couple of such in Ft Lauderdale, for example.

If that doesn't work, check out the ads in Heavy Metal mag. The more intense items are often not advertised but are available from the same sources on-line/mail order.

ALSO --if you live in a smaller/ uptight town, in an indie newsstand simply ask if they have any "adult" graphic novels/comic books. Some places keep them under the counter for sale for people they know and trust.

I don't know if this fits the bill as they are not strictly bdsm but they do have a lot of fetish-like content and that is the series of comics/graphic novels created by zenescope. They do versions of classic fairy stories and re-interpretations of Alice in Wonderland. The link is here:

I did submit a graphic story to Literotica that I made myself using photographs taken in sessions with a mistress but it got rejected - I think because the content was too extreme to display.

This is going to sound so very stupid, but I posted this thread some time ago and absolutely forgot about it. I got caught up exploring all the other areas of lit (and having tons of fun doing so) and just happened to stumble across it tonight.

So to all of you who have posted, thank you so much

I don't have a lot of indie type newstands where I live, but ill definitely be checking out some of the sites suggested here and be reporting back.

Pehaps ill even find some stuff that ill share with you guys too.

Thanks again!

Haven't seen this (my reference to O was the original novel), more into graphic in the written sense usually though if the OP is happy with artworks without a story to go with it, can't go better than Luis Royo for artistically beautiful BDSM themed work. They are also available as prints or in book form.

Thank you, Catalina. I orginally meant more like comic books, but I love artwork and reading separately as well. Any suggestions are welcom!
I love finding new thrills and discovering what other people are into in the BDSM world.

In many larger cities dedicated comic book stores often have an adult section. Occassionally porn shops have a comics section.

Look for publishers like Eros or DoFantasy.

Use this site, no longer updated, to get an idea of what's available and who publishes them. Many of these companies are extremely small-runs and hardcopies difficult to come by... but knowing which titles you want helps you find distributors.

I have a good one at home (i'm on vacation now). I'll try to remember to check the title when I get home. Feel free to PM me if I don't remember to reply.
