Hi all,
I am looking for a VE for feedback on a recent project. it is in English, set in india, and features BDSM/humil/NC/R. All characters are fictional, though certain situations derive very loosely from real life situations.
The story:
A man goes through his day and four different women, from eager and willing to... Less so.
It is a fantasy, wildly unrealistic, and uncomfortable in places. There is no blood/scat or extreme violence. It's currently at 12.4K words.
Themes:
Male gaze, D/s, NC/R, character transformation, watersports
What I am looking for:
Pacing: is the quality of writing (regardless of subject) enough to make you want to read more
Details: is the level of detailing enough to suspend disbelief
Flow: does the flow break? Is it sudden or believable?
Interest: is the execution interesting? Does it hold your interest throughout, or does it break in sections?
What I am NOT looking for:
Grammar/spelling: that's something to be fixed in the final edit.
Judgement: the themes and actions will not be for everyone. And that's fine. I wrote it primarily for myself, and the intent is to be authentic as a writer vs seeking an audience
Who am I?
I have worked in the publishing industry, and have edited and published a science fiction anthology. I have also published non erotic fiction and sometimes contribute non fiction to the new cesspool that is LinkedIn.
I have also been a Dom for close to two decades, and so have a certain amount of experience in that regard.
I am a non native English speaker, but I have a decent grasp on the language.
Why am I looking for an editor?
I have been on a journey of self reflection, and writing is one of the ways I express myself. I have always loved reading erotica, but I've never seriously written or published any. So in this world, I am a novice, and I would appreciate any guidance that helps me grow and develop as a writer.
TL;DR: New to writing erotica. Wrote a BDSM/NC/R story. Would appreciate advice and guidance.
