I wrote a Christmas Story. No, really! I did. I just put the finishing touches on it today. It's a real, god-honest Christmas tale that I'm certain many would enjoy if only they gave it a read. It's not an erotic tale. You could read it to your grandmother. That is, if you can pry her away from the porn sites for long enough first.

I missed the contest deadline, but I'd still like to get it out anyway. My fear is that if I submit my story through normal channels, it may not get approved until Christmas has long passed. Ideally, I would like to post it -- somewhere -- within the next day or two at the latest, so more than just one person can get a chance to read it before Christmas.

I thought I'd just throw it out as lengthy post. But I don't know if there's a limit to how long a post is permitted to be. Or whether that is considered bad form, and subject to deletion as a matter of site policy. And even if it is okay, where should I post a story like mine? I guess what I'm really asking here is for somebody to tell me where I can stick it. And soon!

Would anyone like to step up and tell me how best I should proceed?

All timely feedback will be greatly appreciated, even from the cranky bastards who all want me crippled. You know who you are.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions. And yes, this is a serious post.

well, I'm not a cranky bastard, I hope... but since no one else has replied so far, I will, but don't think I am an authority in the matter. I'm just giving you an opinion.

if it's not an erotic story, it goes in the "Non-Erotic" category, and that's where you'd "stick it." ;)

it might not post before Christmas, especially when it's the first story you are posting, but it might be close to then.

people don't post their stories in this forum. it's more of a social place here. if you want feedback on the story, you could post it in the "Story Feedback" section in its entirety, and then switch it to a link after it is posted to the regular story section. this would get it out today, if you want. be aware, you might want to adopt a thick skin if you don't have one now.

What Kim said...plus you could paste it in a PM for anyone whose interested...like me for instance. ;)

Story Feedback. Of Course! That's a really great suggestion. I can push it through normal channels in parallel, but it's great to know there's a good spot for me to get it out right away. I'd hate for everybody on these boards to rush out of church early on the night of the 24th, just to read my story before reverberation's end on the last stroke of midnight that herald's Christmas Day. My story is good, but it's not THAT good.

Thanks again for the suggestion!

Hmmm. I know just the place to stick it:)

Merry Christmas from the Cranky Bastards of LIT
