TSA pat downs and body scans

Second childhood, then.

Nope just calling a spade a spade. An asshole an asshole. And a dickhead a dickhead.

SR is probably that guy you see and just want to go up an punch in his smug, pompous face just for being in the same world as you.

Good news, Zeb. I have no desire to be in the same world as you. :) In your world everyone but you is a dishonest, stupid, lazy government worker. I think that worldview stinks. So you can have the world to share with wet and Ami and a few others.

You're the kind of guy who puts a "my kid can beat up your honor student" bumpersticker on his truck.

Pot, kettle.

Just sayin'.

Californian, gives the TSA on the Full Monty!

I'm a pornographer, sex worker, and atheist with 8 years of experience in the adult industry. I'm a former "sex-positive feminist" who tired of trying to shoehorn my reality into a silly feminist framework like a pair of ill-fitting high heels. I despise people who project their own issues and insecurities onto sex workers, and reduce sexual women to only two roles: brainwashed victims of The Patriarchy or evil colluders with The Patriarchy. It saddens me to watch other sex workers acting like abused puppies, desperately begging for scraps and approval from the table of feminism. My political philosophy is informed primarily by Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse: "I want you to be nice until it's time to not be nice."

It is time for everyone to do this. That way when the terrorist with the anal bomb tries to get on the plane, they'll see the fuse sticking out!

...and just sorta vaguely let me know that maybe I shouldn't do that again, because children might see.

I see. The kids are supposed to endure with equanimity what they've all been taught is a Bad Touch, but seeing a woman in bikini pants and a sheer teddy will traumatize them. Go figure.

But you know the TSA makes every effort to qualify their employees!

TSA worker accused of assault did jail time for stalking, harassment

A Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employee accused of sexually assaulting a woman in Georgia has also spent time in jail for stalking and harassment, an investigation by WTSB-TV has found.

Randall Scott King, 49, was left in critical condition when he attempted suicide Tuesday evening after allegedly abducting, and sexually assaulting a woman, then giving her a suicide note to deliver.

Your Government is on the job!

Not at all. Actually the only "bumper" sticker on my car(never owned a truck) is a "Support Out Troops" ribbon. And why I would care about someone's "Honor Student" (if the go to a government school no big deal anyway) is beyond me.

Again you assume without facts in evidence. Dickhead.

Nope, it all comes out of this sweeping generalization you posted here:

"Thieves and lowlifes all of them!"

Or can't you remember what you post?

Yep, that's what I posted. So where was I talking about the entire world in that post or do you forget the post I quoted? Dickhead.

If you learned your spelling and grammar from private schools, then I'm damn glad my kids have gone to "government schools." At least they learned to spell and speak/write correctly on the way to their advanced degrees.

:D :D :D

Fixed your post for you. Smarter than you, at least. :D

(I might believe it was only a typo if you didn't consistently misuse to, too, and two, and you're and your).

Ah, taking the Box approach, I see. :D

I'll just let your body of posts speak for themselves.

I have read threads not only here but on other boards. Threads both for and against the security measures in our airports. I have read posts by intelligent people who became name calling pre adolescents in the defense of their views. (Much like political threads.) All through it I have been sitting here at my desk smiling to myself because people just don't understand the truth.

You could force every passenger to strip and submit to a full cavity search and your margin of safety is only minimaly increased. A terrorist with an iota of brains could still do incredible amounts of damage, kill and/or injure large numbers of people and even get away clean.

There is no way to insure the safety of flying.

That being said I'm still willing to fly because I know and understand the odds.

These things come to life like Frankenstein then become industries with immortality.

If we can go to the Moon and Mars we can foil ragheads with passive wizardry. Fill a campus with unemployed brainiacs, a sack of gold, and a year to do the math. I nominate you to lead the team.

I mean, you'd think that a dog could sniff out hidden bombs in BVDs and Kotex.

A lot of the people who are screaming about invasion of privacy, violations of liberties, etc. now are the same people who would scream about screening procedures not being thorough enough should someone manage to blow up a plane.
The Israeli's have an excellent record on airline security, and somehow manage to do that without pat downs or body scans.

A dog can sniff out most explosives in conditions that machines can't. Notice that I said most as there are always new explosives being developed.

The big problems, and the ones not being adressed are not the carrying of devices onto the aircraft.

I leave the rest to you as a lesson in thought.

The Israelis scrutinize passengers very closely--including background checks through Interpol, spending more time than most any other country does in prior checks. They also are in a unique profiling circumstance, in that an Arab wouldn't attempt to ride their national carrier or book into Ben Gurion airport--which cuts out at least some category of threat off the top. I have seen both interrogations and body searches at Ben Gurion. And you may not see them, but passengers do go through scanners--at more than one point. The soliders walking around with uzis held loosely at their sides and the sniffer dogs have some effect as a line of defense too.

There are a whole lot of softer touches around for the terrorists than Israel's international airport.

Several people have already pointed out that the bottleneck before the security checkpoints are an incredibly vulnerable point for a terrorist attack.

I sure don't want to be stuck there.
